The One with the Funeral Flower (Part 3)

{3 weeks later}

Irene's POV

I was doing some flower arrangement in the back room for a client when I heard Moonbyul and Solar talking to someone. By the voice of it, I knew it was Lisa. I still don't get why she's still wasting her time here. She doesn't buy flowers anymore since that day she found out that her ex is already seeing someone. She just goes in here and brings us food.

When I came out of the room with the flower arrangement I made, I saw again a couple of girls by the window outside the shop, looking all happy and giggly. Since Lisa hung out here, those girls kept on loitering in front of my shop and it's kinda getting on my nerves already.

Lisa: Hi Irene! Have some of these.

I looked at the food she brought and it looked appetizing. There's 2 kinds of pasta, a box of pizza, a basket of garlic bread and a big plastic bowl of salad. I placed the flower arrangement I did at the corner and I'll ask Moonbyul later to deliver them once she finished eating.

I didn't notice it was already lunch time until I heard Lisa's voice. I guess I should get used to it that Lisa will always be here during lunch. I took a seat on the vacant stool beside Lisa's and she handed me a disposable plate.

"Umm.. Lisa?"

Lisa: Hmmm?

"You don't have to bring us lunch everyday. I know you're very busy at work and—-"

Lisa: I don't have work anymore. I quit about 2 weeks ago.

"Pppppptttttuuuuuuuuuuiiiiiiiiii!" The couple who were busy eating almost spit out their food in their mouth by the sudden news of Lisa.

"WHAT?" Asked by the couple in unison.

"Why?" I couldn't help but to sound concerned. I knew she was working so hard in that company. That's the reason why she and her ex had broken up because her work meant a lot to her.

Lisa: Well for starters, I didn't really like my job. The only reason why I stayed in that company was because it was a high paying job. I was just trying to earn and save money in case I started a family with my ex but since I'm single now, I realized why should I kill myself from overworking especially when she and I are over now.

Solar: You didn't tell us, Lisa.

Moonbyul: Damn. You even brought us lunch everyday.

The two suddenly stopped from chewing their food as they stared at the food in front of them, looking all guilty and sad with their mouths still full of food.

Lisa: Hey! That's the reason why I didn't tell you guys. I don't want you to act like this.

"Are you okay?" I asked as I looked at her and I wondered how can she still smile like everything is okay.

Lisa: Never been better.

She said to me as she gave me her widest smile. I can feel the genuineness on her face and it makes me smile knowing she's doing good despite the recent happenings in her life. I told her she can still hang out here without bringing us food. I don't want her spending money on us, especially when she's the one who doesn't have work even if she's richer than the 3 of us combined.

She indeed stayed in the shop with us and helped us with some orders even if we told her she could just stay still. I guess she's not used to not doing anything. I found out that she wanted to be a photographer and took some photography classes before but she ended up taking a business degree instead.
