Chapter 3: King Regis, Cor, and the Offer

Y/N was gaining back consciousness after she fell unconscious after landing hard on the hard ground outside of a big place. She felt like she was on something soft when she moved very slightly with her hands. Once she fluttered her eyes a bit, she finally opened them and a high ceiling greeted her with gorgeous colors and themes. Wait, this wasn't her bedroom! The last thing she remembered was that she was being sucked in and hitting the ground hard. That's when she fainted. She groaned as she sat up and gently rubbed her head, hissing in pain as she hit the spot where it hurt the most. She shakenly pulled her hand away from the spot and looked around. She realized she was in a bedroom and it was a big one at that. She also noticed that she was alone. She slowly got off of the bed and looked around in awe. It was a beautiful bedroom.

She slowly walked towards the big windows and looked out into the view. She felt herself choking in shock as the view was not her neighborhood at all. She then realized sooner or later where she was. This was Insomnia! She was in the game called Final Fantasy XV!

She gasped once there was a soft knock on her door and she was about to check who it was by the door when someone else opened it. Y/N did a step back and her eyes went wide upon seeing the king himself, King Regis, and Cor, head of the Crownsguard. They stared at her as if she was an important figure. Y/N quickly bowed in respect to them. King Regis smiled warmly and laid his hand on her shoulder, causing her to flinch a little but she relaxed and looked nervously into King Regis' eyes. "No need to bow, my child."

"Your Majesty, since she is awake, shouldn't we ask her questions?" Cor asked with a serious look on his face.

This caused Y/N to even feel more nervous now. She was kinda scare of Cor. He was known to be a serious and stern lot, especially towards the Crownsguards since he was the leader. He was also seen as an immortal since he never died or anything in battles. 

"You are right, Cor." He looked at Y/N, still with a heartwarming smile on his face. "We don't we take a seat?"

As the three sat down, Cor wanted to make sure that the king was comfortable. He was getting older and older to the point that he had a problem with his leg if Y/N remembered correctly. It was also sad to watch King Regis slowly becoming older since he was the father of Noctis himself. Noctis was currently still in high school together with his friends and they're all still young while the king becomes older. 

"Tell me, my child. We saw a portal opening and you fell through it. Please... tell me more about it," King Regis asked with a curious tone in his voice.

"I am from a different world, Your Majesty. In my world, we don't have magical things like here and don't have any daemons at night." Y/N felt slowly calm around the king, due to his warm personality and how patient he was but she still felt unsure about Cor.

"That must be a strange yet peaceful world," Cor gruffly responded. 

"The world of mine can be boring," Y/N commented.

King Regis couldn't help but chuckle. "I believe it's interesting to get to know other worlds, my child. But listen to me carefully, I have an offer for you."

Cor didn't look surprised since he knew already what the offer was. They discussed it together and Cor agreed to train Y/N but to both of their surprise, Y/N was the chosen one, an actual guardian angel, to protect Noctis. Both King Regis and Cor were delighted by the news, Y/N was not only from another world but a gift from the ones watching above such as the Gods and other Lucis' kings.

Y/N was surprised by the offer. She began to listen even more to what the king was saying. Finally, she was explained that she was the actual guardian angel sent by the Gods and even by previous Lucis' kings in order to protect Noctis in the future. She was even blessed with very powerful powers such as having wings that she must discover yet on her own. What was the offer you might have asked? To be privately tutored by King Regis and Cor to be a strong Crownsguard and warrior of Insomnia but she can only use her powers when it's an emergency. "What do you say, my child? Would you like to become a warrior of Insomnia?" He then stuck his hand out to Y/N, waiting for a shake to be taken and for the offer to be accepted.

Y/N looked down at her hands. She couldn't believe she was stuck here first in a videogame world and now she has secret powers that she must discover? Since when was she chosen to be a guardian angel? Since when was she chosen by the Gods and the previous kings of Lucis? If she chooses to agree, then her life would be very different. She could never return home. But her true life at home was a nightmare so she slowly looked at the men, who were looking with patience at her, the king's hand was still stuck out to her. "I accept your offer, Your Majesty, even Cor's." She then took the king's hand gently and shook it and both let it go. "But what about my education? I'm only 16."

Cor, this time, took the word. "You'll get private education. Prince Noctis is still in high school and he'll finish school within a year. Meanwhile, you'll get a lot of combat training with hands and weapons."

Y/N nodded in understanding. She's ready for a brand new chapter in a life full of training and being Noctis' guardian angel. She already knew the story so she was prepared for battles and the future, even if it meant the death of King Regis...
