Chapter 5: Before on the Road

A lot had changed ever since their first meeting, Noctis and Y/N. They became great friends they would spend time with each other when Y/N had free time or no duties to attend to as a Crownsguard. She finished all her studies and combat training lessons when she was free from them and officially became one of the guards here in Insomnia. King Regis would even choose Y/N for missions or be like Cor, someone with the company. No, no as lovers since the king was much older than Y/N, and also, King Regis missed his wife dearly, the Queen who gave birth to Noctis and sadly passed away when the prince was an infant.

Y/N heard that Noctis got an arranged marriage with Lady Lunafreya, a beautiful FF character that Y/N has never seen about females. She was a kindhearted soul that would do anything for the people. Y/N was jealous of Luna, not because of her looks since she was a beauty but of how good her heart was. She was also powerful as well like with the staff she had. Y/N didn't watch KINGSGLAIVE but she knew that King Regis didn't want the marriage to happen. He cared deeply about his son and he surely wanted the prince to find someone to marry not by arranging it. Y/N was mad that this was happening. Not at the king, the prince, or Luna but she was mad at Ardyn. He was the one who declared war and suggested... or more like wanting for Noctis and Luna to marry. Or else there will be war. King Regis didn't want wars since he was old and rather die in peace. So, the king sadly agreed and the news spread around fast about the marriage.

Y/N stood at the window in her bedroom, looking at the sky that slowly became darker with stars coming out. She was in awe since in her world, it was impossible to see stars due to lights everywhere. You need to find like a forest or something where there were no lights. She quickly opened the door of her balcony and stepped out in her nightclothes. She could also swear that a song played in her head from Final Fantasy XV... It was the intro she heard playing. It was a melodic sound but also sad if you hear it carefully.

Y/N sighed as tomorrow would be the day when Noctis would leave Insomnia with his friends to reach Altissa. Those friends were his best friend, Prompto, his adviser Ignis and his training teacher Gladio. Y/N met already the three of them and they all took a liking to her as friends. Gladio was even impressed with her skills since she was trained by Cor and the king. She minded her own business until there was a knock on the door outside of her room. She quickly looked over her shoulder to see who it was when she realized it was a sleepy Noctis that entered the room. Y/N giggled. Noctis was known as a sleepyhead in the family so he loved to sleep a lot. I mean like a lot.

"Hey, sleepyhead."

Noctis groaned sleepily. "Hey."

Y/N walked up to him, feeling glad that she wasn't in her panties yet since she always slept that way, a tanktop with panties on. She had her jogging pants on and that's her clothes when she was in her free time, while on duty, she had her Crownsguard outfit on. "What are you doing in my room, Noct?"

Noctis felt embarrassed. He woke up due to a nightmare and it was all about Y/N, who got murdered in war. He started to crush on her ever since she impressed him more and how kind she was to the people of Insomnia. She was already so strong...

Y/N noticed how embarrassed he looked but also he was... upset? She looked soft and gently laid her hand on his shoulder. "Noct?"

Noctis sighed. "I... had a nightmare. It's about you and you got killed during the war. Can I... sleep with you for tonight?" He then blushed.

Y/N blushed but felt that she understood him. He explained already how the nightmare played out about her and she was murdered during the war. Did Noctis have a vision of her where she'll meet her end? The game did show the prince having headaches or visions, after all. she became worried. She needed to track Noctis in the right direction of the game instead of turning the other way around. She was his guardian angel and he didn't know it yet nor do his friends.

Y/N took her courage and smiled softly. "You can, Noctis. I won't tell anyone about it, I promise."

Noctis couldn't help but feel happy. His crush agreed to sleep together as comfort, nothing else... yet. That's for the future, readers. Noctis was already in his shorts and a shirt and went to lie down under Y/N's soft covers. He felt himself immediately relax as he took breaths. Y/N smiled at the sight. It seemed like he felt already relaxed because of her. While Noctis wasn't looking, Y/N quickly got her jogging pants off and she was already in her shorts since she kept them hidden. Y/N joined in the covers and felt relaxed as well. As she relaxed, Noctis wrapped his arms around her waist/back and buried his face into her warm neck, causing Y/N to stiffen in shock. She felt herself smile slowly and wrapped her arms around him as well, causing this time both of them to relax. Sooner or later, sleep took over them.
