*poem from 2006
Garden of my gardens
I lay a leaf by,
Scattering petals
At memory's shrine
That I might
Forget-you-not.
Seasons breathe:
A death, a life
The heart of a flower
Spent in seeds,
Bled in giving.
Tell me, does
The heart nourish the seed,
Or kernel the heart?
I plant both in One
Make a space
For remembrance.
Let all I have known
In leaf-limb, tree bough and bud
Now thrive in this place
Peace-given.
May green thoughts and
The strong sap of friends
Keep us
Forever-twined.
