Chapter 5

Sixteen years Just Shy of Two months
December 12

Cynthia was laying in bed putting on her eye make up in the hospital room. She was waiting for the doctor and her true mate to escort her to the Elder Council. Nurse Clem had helped her shower and get dressed. Andrea had last night brought her over an outfit. It was a cream color pull over maternity sweater; burgundy color maternity leggings; burgundy and black speckled fedora hat; and burgundy, black and white plaid scarf; her hoop earrings; red watch, black hiking boots.

Doctor Gerald walked in smiling when he looked at her, "you do look beautiful today

Doctor Gerald walked in smiling when he looked at her, "you do look beautiful today."

A growl from the door and voice said, "she is my mate. Don't talk to her like that." They look over and see Roderick, the beta standing there.

The doctor laughed, "you know I am happily mated. Plus I have daughters close to Cynthia's age. I learned a long time ago that pregnant wolves like to be complimented." He then turned to her, "now, I am going to spray this scent begone on you. This way no one can smell your scent." He starts to spray her.

Roderick growls again, "I know why she gotta wear it, but I don't like not smelling my mate."

Gerald replied, "then you're not going to like this either. This morning on my way here I was stopped by Enforcer Tyson. He gave me this bangle." He pulled out a multicolored bangle from one of his pockets. "He said to have her wear this to cover the heartbeats." Both Cynthia and Roderick growled. "Will you two stop growling at me? Before I agreed to giving it to you I talked to the doctor at the Werewolf Council. He said it is safe. I also told him until the few who knew about her pregnancy were informed about the scent begone and heartbeat blockers and that we would not leave the hospital room. I did not want any panic to happen thinking you lost these pups."

He then put the bangle on Cynthia. This caused her to start to panic. Roderick rushed over and grabbed her hand. "Shhh, look at me. They are ok. Listen to Ilian. She told Quincy that they are snuggled up and she is surrounding them." She soon calmed down. He looked at Gerald. "Is this really necessary?"

"According to the enforcers it is."

Just then Clem came in pushing a wheelchair. On the wheelchair were a couple blankets. "It is time to go."

Gerard leaned over and kissed Clem's cheek. "Might be the time we were told to leave, but we are waiting for Enforcer Calvin to link Roderick for the go ahead to go."

Clem, who hates being late to anything, glared at him. "He still hasn't talked to them all? What does it take to get the job done? A woman?"

Gerald called out, "CLEMMY NO!!!"

He was too late. All the sudden he heard his mate in a link. With the grins on Roderick and Cynthia's face they did too. "Jimini Crickets Enforcer Tyson and Enforcer Calvin you were given one simple task and obviously you cannot do it. This is Nurse Clem at the hospital and before anyone ask, YES, CYNTHIA IS OK. You all know in fifteen minutes we are supposed to be walking into the pack's elder council. It takes 10 minutes on a normal day to walk there, but due to the 5 inches or snow and still coming down it will take longer maneuvering the wheel chair in it. If we had left when I wanted to, we could have gotten there on time." She growled, "I cannot stand to be late to anything Enforcers and because you did not put on your big boy pants we now will be at least 5 minutes late."
