Long before humanity left its caves and waged bloody war upon itself. The Galaxy was controlled by the Elikar. A race of tall, plale, slender, and pointy eared peoples that have mastered the ways of technology and void travel. United they strove to unlock the secrets if the universe. They created new plant life using base atoms of reality instead of growing them through seeds, built golden gates that opens portals from one planet to the next, constructed massive relays to create interconnecting hyperlanes to increase speed of void travel from star cluster to star cluster, erected gleaming golden cities that they lived prosperous lives of abundance and pleasure. Yet it was not enough.
An Elikar scientist went searching for knowledge and power beyond the veiled walls of existence. Digging deeper and deeper into the primordial well of knowledge that dates back to the origins of the universe. The trail of secrets, acting as a laid out trail of popcorn into a forest, lead the scientist to an ancient ruin beneath the surface of the Elikar's birth world, and within this ruin, she found an obsidian gate cut into the wall with technology of unknown origin running through it. She reported her findings to her people, who were most eager to discover something that may progress their civilization even more, and began a century long research and experimentation with the gate. 100 years is nothing to an Elikar.
After a century was up, the Elikar scientist finally found how to activate the mysterious obsidian gate. Once activated, it opened as a portal of violent purple and red energy, and a being of energy stepped out of the gateway. The scientist's eyes widened as the being to look more and more Elikar like until the scientist was looking into an exact replica of herself. She asked the being if it knew the secrets of the universe. And the being replied with 'yes, let us show you.'
Another century later, and the majority of the Elikar race now used untold magics taught by the beings from beyond the gate. It seemed as of the Elikar Civilization could surpass any obstacle and reach any height. Though, as time passes, those who use certain types of magics began to degrade, in mind and body. Those who used the likes of pyromancy overheat themselves or simply combust, those who used cryomancy froze to death, the ones who used restormancy become frail and lose their immune system, so on and so forth. The select few magics untouched by the utter chaos of the others were astromancy (predicting the future), voidmancy (manipulating the void of space to hide), and starmancy (creating light from nothing, though arguably the Elikar didn't need magic for that.).
As the numbers of the Elikar race began to slowly dwindle, the obsidian gate broke and the world it resided within imploded with the same purple and red energies that laid within the obsidian gate. The energies warped the system's star into a dark purple and black hue as the rest of the energy crashed into the world's within the system and the surrounding up to 20 star systems away, leaving mutated life everywhere the energies can reach. The now Fel Star, corrupted by eldritch energies, lays dormant, and the void around the star shift and churn as if reality is being bent to the whims of another.
The survivors of the Elikar race retreated to the few sanctuary worlds throughout the galaxy. Once they all found their new homes, the world's themselves were hidden away by the void itself, hidden away and protected, even from the beings beyond the veil.'What have we done? Our sins now scar the galaxy... our home." -Elikar Survivor
