Chapter 3 - Late night stroll

I walk into the bar and to the back to find Ronseal and Radious sitting together in his office, Ronseal sees me at his door "Come in Y/N, tell me how'd it go" he says and I walk inside sitting next to Radious "It went smoothly, well besides being shot at but that's the usual" I say with a small laugh "Did you find anything?" Radious asks with curiosity "Yeah I got into what I assume was the bosses safe and got some cash along with a notebook, it's in the bag here. I take my bag off and set it on Ronseals desk and he opens it grabbing the notebook "You and Ahn split the money, now if you'll excuse me me and Radious have some looking into to do and thanks for this I can't thank you enough" Ronseal says with a smile and I smile back "It's nothin, just doin what I gotta do" I say and Ronseal laughs before I leave his office.

- Some time later -

I laid back on a couch as I took a drink from my glass, I see Radious wave me over so I get up and walk over "Whats up?" "The don wants you and it's urgent" I nod and follow him into Ronseals office "Y/N glad your still here, come sit down" I sit down and lean forward "Of course, so what's the emergency?" I ask concerned "Well we looked over the notebook you brought and this wasn't some random strike, they were payed to take out one of our crews this is much bigger" I widen my eyes "Could it be some rival gang? A corpo?" I ask and he shakes his head "I'm not sure, we're investigating right now but just keep this in the back of your head." Ronseal leans back and sighs rubbing his eyes "Something wrong?" I ask "Just a bit concerned about Jinx" he says somberly "Jinx?" I ask and he nods "Yes, lately she's been walking home alone since I've been needing to stay here late to look over things and thanks to this I'll have to even longer, do you remember what Ahn said few hours ago?" "Yeah someone tried to attack her over a drink" I say and he nods "I want you to escort her home, this won't be a one time thing either" I feel surprised "W-well sir surely there are better people than me" I say and Ronseal shakes his head "No, your perfect for it and she trusts you the most so your going to do this for me" I nod and sigh "If you say so" I say and he smiles "Thank you Y/N, the bar closes in about two hours so hang around till then for me" I nod and get up "I won't let you down" I say and Ronseal smiles before I leave his office.

- At the Bar -

I sit at the bar and Jinx walks over "Get you anything mister big shot?" She says with a giggle "My usual for now please" I say and she sets down a glass before serving me my favorite drink and sets the bottle down "Don't worry bout the bottle it's free" she says with a wink and smiles, I smile back and take a sip before looking up at the TV.

- Some time later -

"Y/N get up" Ronseal says shaking me awake "Huh...?" I say opening my eyes and sitting up "Here drink some water, the bars closing" I take the glass and drink it before setting it down "Oh ok, let me get ready" I say and Ronseal smiles "You got this Y/N" he says before going to the back and I walk to the bar "Jinx?" "Yeah?" she says walking over "You ready to close?" "What you got somewhere to be?" She asks curiously "Nah your dad wants me to walk you home" Jinx frowns a bit and sighs "Oh dad, alright then Y/N I'll let you but only you" I smile and laugh a bit before Jinx walks from behind the bar and I walk with her and we leave the bar.

"So you havin any trouble walking home?" I ask as me and her walked the buzzing neon lit streets "No dad is just protective" she says with a pout "I can't blame him, I'd be the same if I had a kid" I say and I see Jinx look at me "What?" I ask and Jinx smiles a bit "Yeah maybe your right, so are you going to walk me home all the time?" "Till your dad says for me not to anymore" I say confidently and Jinx giggles causing me to smile "Your so funny Y/N" I feel Jinx grab my arm and hold me close to her causing me to blush a bit "Ahn told me about the place her and you went to" "Oh yeah? What'd she say?" "Said you took em out swiftly and came back with good things" Jinx smiles "Yeah I sure did." I smile back at her, as we walked I looked out to Night City the city looked better at night seeing all the neon and almost calm streets is nice, well besides those amazing views the corpos have. "Hey Y/N?" "Yeah?" I ask looking at her "Have you ever thought of me?" "Like?" I ask raising a brow "Like in general" "Well yeah, your my friend and I always think of my friends" I say with a big smile "I see, ever thought of me differently?" "How different?" I ask a bit nervous "Like maybe we could be more" "What you want to work with me and the rest?" I say and Jinx sighs "No, it's ok" I look away as we continued to walk.

- One silent walk later -

We make it to her apartment but three anthros stood around, they spot Jinx and walk over "Who's the human? You tryin to replace us?" one of them say "Hey back off! You guys are creeps!" Jinx says loudly clinging to my arm "We know you enjoy the catcalling, your desperate for some more ain't ya?" another says "Hey you three, fuck off" I say and they look at me "Oh mister flesh bag actin tuff" "I said fuck off, you don't wanna mess with me" one of them laughs and pushes me down while the other two restrain Jinx "You mother- fuck it" I pull out my pistol and shoot the first one in the head and he falls to the ground dead "C'mon, I'll be fair this time" I say standing up and the two look at their dead friend and decide to run "Cowards" I say pointing my gun at them shooting them both in the back "Crawl to your death then" I say putting my pistol away and walking to Jinx "You okay? They touch you or anything?" I ask and Jinx hugs me "T-thank you Y/N" she says and I feel my heart skip a beat as she held me "Y-yeah no problem Jinx" I say and she looks at me "Could you... stay for a bit? Just to make sure?" "Sure" I say with a small smile and we walk into her apartment.

"So this you and your dads place?" I ask walking inside and looking around, it was similar to mine but most apartments look the same besides the ones outside of Watson "No just mine, dad lives across from me it's like having my own room" Jinx says sitting on the couch and pats next to her "Well least you got your own place" I say sitting next to her and as I did so the lights dim and the window opens showing a view of Night City outside "Nice view, the lights look pretty" I say looking out the window. As we both looked out side I feel Jinx move her hand over to my leg as she leaned on my shoulder "Somethin up?' I ask "No, just enjoying the view" "Mmm" I say as we looked out, a few minutes go by as we looked out "Hey Y/N?" "Yeah?" I ask looking at her "I love you" I feel my heart start to race "W-what? That a joke?" "No, I love you more than a friend" she says looking at me "W-well I'm f-flattered but-" Jinx presses a finger against my lips "I just... I was too nervous to say anything till now but saying it makes me feel so much better" "I uhm I don't know what to say" I say nervously "Do you feel the same?" "Well uhm I-I think so" I say with a light blush "Let me help you~" Jinx pulls me in and kisses me I feel her tongue around mine as I kissed her back before we break it "W-well now I definitely feel the s-same" Jinx giggles and moves in front of me sitting on my lap, something is going to happen and it will be a long night.
