Sometime Later
In New York
April O'Neil was doing a newscast on the sudden wave of crimes happening in New York. It is reported that these robberies of all kinds are happening suddenly and without warning, and without witnesses.
Much more than just a series of small, isolated incidents...it's now apparent that an organized criminal element is at work. And at the moment, business is good. So good, in fact, that there appear to be no eyewitnesses to any of these crimes. With complaints ranging from purse-snatching...to breaking and entering, police switchboards have been swamped...with the angry voices of more and more citizens...who have fallen prey to the recent surge of crime...that continues to plague the city.
April reports while the turtles look over at the tv. Splinter puts the volume up while Jesse starts meditating still listening to April.
Instead of getting better, things have actually gotten worse. Even more alarming is the baffling...and often bizarre nature of these crimes. Merchandise of every size and description...from skateboards to stereo systems...has been disappearing from store shelves and storage areas...at an alarming rate. Even the victims themselves rarely catch a glimpse of the thieves. Many don't even know they've been victimized until it's too late. In fact, police have yet to come up with a single eyewitness. Only a few vague reports...of young boys or teenagers at the scenes have been filed. But whoever is behind these crimes, one thing is certain. These are much more than just a series of random isolated incidents.
April said while Cheyenne looks up from her laptop and she looks at Donnie who shows her the newspaper.
Crimes without criminals? An invisible gang at work? Who are we gonna call? Unfortunately, the police are the only ones available...to combat what some are already dubbing "the silent crime wave." But perhaps the most disturbing silence...is that coming from city hall. April O'Neil, Channel 3 Eyewitness News.
Splinter turns off the tv while Leo walks to the door. "We need to stop them." Leo said to them making Jesse look at him. "What? Are you crazy?" Jamey asks him making Leo turn to them. "Come on guys, we can help the people of New York." Leo said to them making Splinter think about it. "Leo, right we can help them but in the shadows." Jesse said to them making Leo look at her with a smile. "Yes..." Splinter said to them making the group look at Splinter. "You eight need to protect the city but like Jesse said stay in the shadows." Splinter said to them making the teens nod.
The turtles leave their lair and they were walking down the hallway of the sewer. "Thanks for taking my side." Leo said to Jesse who was walking next to him. "You're welcome, Leo." Jesse said to him as the two hands touched each other making the two look down at their hands. "What are you two doing?" Mikey and Tasneem ask the two making Jesse and Leo pull their hands away from each other. "It's nothing." Jesse said to them. "Sure it is." Jamey said to her while Jamey leans on the wall.
"Help!"
The turtles hear someone calling for help making the group run over to the manhole cover. "Get her jewelry. Hurry up." The group hears someone. "What are we going to do?" Tasneem asks them. "We need to help her." Donnie said to them while Jesse climbs up the ladder making Leo look at her. "How?" Cheyenne asks them while Jesse looks out of the manhole cover to look around. "We can't go up there, without anyone seeing us." Cheyenne said to them. "We can help her." Jesse said to them making the group look at Jesse. "There is a street light." Jesse said to them as she jumped off the ladder. "And?" Raph asks her as Jesse walks over to them. "If we take out the street light, we can use the darkness as cover." Jesse said to them. "Okay, let's give it a try." Jamey said to them and she pushes Raph forward. "Raph go hit the light with your sai." Jamey said to him. Raph climbs up the ladder while his brothers get ready, Raph lifts up the manhole, and he sai is then thrown into the street light. "Go now." Jesse said to the brothers making the four up out of the sewer and into the street. The four brothers' turtles defeat the group very easily and tie up the attackers, saving April. They then return to the sewers just as the NYPD arrives. During their escape, Raphael forgets to retrieve his sai. Jamey looks over at Raph to see him looking out of the manhole cover. "Something wrong, Raph?" Jamey asks him while Raph watched as April secretly puts the weapon in her purse making Raph come down from the ladder. "Yeah, everything is so fine." Raph said to her and the two follow the others.
