- So where are we going exactly?
- It's a surprise and I don't want to ruin it so please hold on a little longer Simon. - Johnny said as he smiled to taller man and opened the door for him. As they both walked in they were greeted by an old lady. Of course when she saw Ghost she freaked out a little, but she tried to hide it. Yeah he looked a bit scary in his balaclava, but he got used to freaking out people because of it. If he ever said that it didn't made him feel powerful, he prolly lied.
- Welcome you two, follow me please. - she said as she went right to the stairs in front of them. Following her Simon looked around the small apartament and thought what in the hell Soap wanted to do in an old lady's house. Whatever it was there was no turning back.
Ghost literally expected the worst, but when she opened the doors for them he saw two cats. One of them was pure black and the other one was white but had a lot of ginger circles on his back and head. They immediately greeted both of men. - Oh don't be scared of them, they don't bite right Ruby? She stroked black cat, as she introduced another cat. - This one's name is Luna.
- Aren't they cute Simon? - Johnny said as he started stroking both of the cats and playing with them. - Yeah they are.
- Okay we're not gonna stand here forever, right? Come to the living room and I'll make some tea for you. - she disappeard in the kitchen as they both went to the room she was talking about. They sat on the brown couch and Soap called for cats that were now in the kitchen following their owner. They didn't seem interested in them anymore so he gave up with a sad face.
- So, why are we here? - Ghost seemed confused, because Soap never told him that he knew some old lady with cats, and this wasn't his family either so what was the point?
- Well I was thinking about adopting a cat, so I found this old lady's adoption announcement, since her cat gave birth to three little kittens. She wanted to give them a good and warm home since she can't really keep them, because of her age. - he kinda sounded sad at the end. Ghost knew Johnny was an emotional guy so he didn't judge him.
He put his hand on Johnny's shoulder and gave him a weak smile. - Thank you Johnny. But I'm not sure if we can keep three little kittens either.
- I know. That's why we're gonna take only one. - as he said that old lady came back with tea that she put on the coffee table and sat on the armchair. - So first of all just call me Lisa sweethearts.
- So Lisa we wanted to adopt one of the kittens, but they aren't here i guess? - Yes that's right, I'm sorry I didn't told you before I should call you. I already gave the kittens to a nice couple that were here two days ago. They took all of them.
- Oh. - was all Johnny said.
- But don't worry you two. I've got heart disease and to be honest I don't know how longer I will be here. So I would like to give you my Ruby and Luna. I don't want them to be alone, or end up on the streets. - she said it like it was a normal thing.
- I'm so sorry to hear that Lisa. - Johnny said as he gave her a sad smile. - Simon just shook his head in agreement.
Lady called both of the cats and they came to her and rubbed against her legs. She stroked them gently looking at them knowing she will never see them again. Slowly lifting both of them she kissed them on their little heads and left them on the couch. As she stood she went to her bedroom for something leaving both of men in silence.
Simon quietly called black cat and when he came to him looking at him, Ghost stroked him gently on his head like he was scared to hurt him. After that Luna came to him as well hoping for being stroked as the other cat. When old lady came back she had toys for cats and a little paper with things to buy for them. Prolly food that they're eating and cat litter.
She gave Soap the paper and toys. Johnny took it and put it in his black bag. - Well I see that my little ones already liked you, um? - Riley. - Yes, Riley. - she gave him a weak smile still being scared of big guy.
- I can see you two will take care of them. I'm glad I can give my loved ones to you. - she said as she walked them to the main doors. They took cats into cat carrier and said goodbye to Lisa as they went to their car.
Johnny knew that even if Simon looked like he was dead inside he was very excited and happy deep down. Knowing that his partner loved cats he couldn't just walk by that opportunity.
