~Chapter Three~

It all started back when I realized that all of us should get a closer look of the animals that we can change into. So, I guess you could say this was my fault.

It was the day that I was horseback riding with my friend Geneice, who is an Equus Caballus Change, which means she morphs into horses. I guess she was getting frustrated, because she accidentally changed; on the horse she was riding!

Afterwards, we all decided to go to the zoo (me, Leah, Sarah, Becca, Nick, Ben, Kyle, and Drew went. Geneice didn't go). We each looked around the exhibits of our animal types; fortunately they were mostly in the same area. Unfortunately, we kind of didn't end up leaving the zoo for a while.

Apparently the fences to the animals' exhibits needed repairing and some of the animals had escaped, now wandering around the zoo. We-as stupid as we are-thought that if we changed, we could convince the wolves and the siberian tigers to get back in and rest until they were temporarily caged. That didn't exactly work out so well.

"Come on guys; over here! Quick!" Shouted Kyle from the back of a souveniour stand. It would be a little bit of privacy, seems how there's trees on the other side. "Okay, okay we're coming! Come on guys, we've got to do this fast!" I shouted at them in a hurry. We ran over to Kyle, who was already in wolf form.

We all changed once we got back there, shifting our senses, bones, muscles, and well, pretty much everything I guess. Once we were set in our animal bodies, we pounced out onto the pathway. Only a few minutes later we heard a voice shouting, "Aha, I've got you!" It was a zoo keeper who was seemingly feeling triumphant, as we were netted down and shoved into crates before we knew what was happening. We were caught.

The animals started a mini-rampage, and we were all caught up in them. The zookeepers must have thought we were the escaped ones. We were packed up, and later shipped off to a zoo in Georgia. There, we met a girl named Kat who was in the same situation as us, although she's an Ailuropoda melanoleuca Change: a Panda Bear.

Since we're all part of the Change, we all share some sort of telepathic communication while in animal form. So, using that, Kat filled us in on her night watches of the zoo, getting birds and other free animals to scope out weak spots in the zoo's security. She knows how to safely escape the zoo, but she just can't get out of her Panda Bear exhibit.

"So, what you're saying, is that there's a chance for us to escape almost every night?" Drew asked. "Well, it depends on the nights, because some night guards are better than others," Kat replied. "Waiiiiit, since Leah and her sisters are birds...that means their aviaries are open topped!" Kat exclaimed excitedly.

"So do you think we can have them fly out and help us?" Nick asked Kat, seemingly deep in thought. "Well, they would have to get the keys from one of the guards. That might be tough to do. Oh! I heard that a really lazy guard, one that always falls asleep on the night shift, is going to be fired next week. She only has one shift a week, so that means we only have one try if we want to escape. It has to work."
