"So, How ya doing? I know it's been a while...It's been pretty well after Dally and Johnny's death. I know everyone in the gang took it hard. Well, especially Ponyboy. I know they were close. Not like how Ponyboy and I were..Just different...Speaking of Ponyboy..He seems to be doing well, I know he took it really hard in the beginning, getting sick and all. Darry and he haven't been fighting all that much either! You know how I said it was hurting me? Well, I told 'em..and It actually worked. What you said was right, they are my brothers and they'll understand..Anyway, I'll keep you updated. Stay safe Sandy!
Sodapop Curtis~."
Ah, Now my letter's done! Great! Time to seal it and go to the post office..
(On the way outside, he sees Ponyboy leaving the bathroom and back to their room)
"Oh hey! Ponyboy!!" I try to sound as chill as possible, ruffling his hair for extra chillness. "Oh, um hey Soda! Heading to work again? I thought it was your day off..." He sounded worried. "Nope! Your right it is my day off, I'm just dropping this letter for Sandy...Do..Do you want to come?" I haven't seen him get outside his room ever since summer break started..."Sure! I think fresh air will do me good!"
(they head outside and walk along the road, heading the to post office)
We're just walking in silence. The blazing sun somehow made background noises for our ears to tune into. Just as I was about the break the silence, Ponyboy started speaking. "So! Hows sandy? You got into contact with her..?" "U-um, Yeah! I tried sending her a letter again..and she actually responded!"
Ponyboys POV;
This was all so random...But I can't believe Soda's talking to Sandy again! It must be great for him! I can see him lighting up when he talks about her...Like...Like..Nevermind..We get silent again, I guess I'm in deep thought, 'cus when Soda tapped my shoulder he looked worried. "Is everything okay..? I know It's been a couple of months since Darry and Johnny died." I winced. "I just wanted to know...Like you can tell me anything, you know?" He placed his hand on my shoulder. "Im your big brother." Anything? Anything?! Does...Does he really mean it? Can I really tell him..? I know he's my brother and all, and I love him more than anything..."Well...Actually, I meant to tell you something...It's about Johnny and-"
"HEY THERE SODA! " Oh.

Sodapop writes a letter to sandy.
Sodapop and Ponyboy walk together. Soda is concerned about Ponyboy.
Ponyboy wants to tell Soda something.
Ponyboy gets interrupted by Steve.
