A Typical Story

Dress shopping can be addictive.

A couple days passed, and I was getting increasing excited about project Very superstitious as I began calling it.

Peter had no clue; it was also his birthday coming up soon and I had got him some presents.

I got him part of a necklace, well, I say I got it. I mostly made it by buying a Lego set with the parts I needed. I basically made us matching necklaces that when they link they make a heart. I thought it was pretty cute.

Along with the necklace, I got him this really cool bomber jacket with vintage star wars patches on the sleeves, it kinda gave fighter pilot vibes but in a subtle way and I really hoped he liked it.

I knew May was getting him the Lego AT-AT set which looked absolutely sick, Nan and I were invited out to enjoy his birthday meal with him at this Thai place by theirs.

I also got a couple secret presents which he would find out about at a later date.

And that leads me to now, waiting to meet Pepper and Nat outside my building block, dressed in a black and white polka dot skirt with a black crop top and doctor martins. I also had to get my hair cut today, which they had said was fine. thank god. I just didn't want them to not like me.

A honk sounded and I hurried over to the car waiting for me, sliding into the back.

"Hiya-"

"do you even know how to drive! Jackass!" I flinched as Pepper cut me off by screaming at the driver in front of us, Nat laughing quietly.

"Hey Greene, this hothead is Pepper" the ginger woman offered an apologetic smile through the rear-view mirror before focussing back on the road, "I'm Nat" the redhead waved with a smirk, and I grinned back.

"Thanks for picking me up"

"it's not a problem, I'm just glad we're adding more women to the team"

"amen to that, how are you finding dating a superhero Alexandria?"

"it's just Alex, and I don't know what you're talking about"

"smart" Pepper chuckled, "I guess that's what happens when you're with a vigilante, huh?"

"what happened the other week with the party? Steve said he overheard Tony trying to tell Peter you weren't having a stroke"

"yeah, I got drunk on accident" Nat laughed as Pepper's eyebrows furrowed in concern.

"how do you get drunk accidentally?"

"well, I didn't know what I was drinking was alcoholic until I'd had too many." I clutched my seatbelt as Pepper swerved across the road, praying to whatever god there was.

"and you met his aunt like that for the first time? Brave." I groaned, sinking in my seat as my hands came up to cover my face.

"don't remind me. I feel so bad."

"I'm sure she understands, she is raising a teenager after all"

We made it to the parking space in one piece and I followed them down the street towards a dress shop which was supposed to have what we were looking for.

"so, what is the theme? Like what's too much?" I asked as I looked at the overwhelming amount of dressed in front of me, and this was just one aisle.

"It doesn't matter as long as you look hot"

"below the knee is probably a good idea" Pepper chimed after Nat, coming over to my side. "do you want a hand?"
