If I had known that the winter’s bite would burn like fire
I’d have worn the horse leather gloves you’ve given me
Woven by the passion we shared that one faithful moon

If I had known the rivers will freeze and cease to dance
I’d have went with you in the spring and bathe ‘til I drowned
My lungs will carry the water to my drying heart

If I had known all that I know now perhaps you’d be with glee
I’d have treasured the April curse like vultures to rotting meat
A sweet and palish corpse that lives through blood but not the soul

If only I had known
