PART 3:
THE LAST DRINK
(BEFORE THE WORLD
ENDED)

THEY RUSHED OUT OF the hospital room, ignoring the round of yells they received in return. Eddie almost crashed against people multiple times and Frankie struggled to put on his brown coat once again.
They almost crashed into Agent Stinson, and Frankie slithering past her and pointing with his left hand, "You! I'll be back tomorrow, promise!" This left the straight-laced agent in confusion as Frankie ran off without a second thought.
Eddie went through the hospital doors first, Franklin close behind. They found his car in (what a surprise) the parking lot, Frankie taking out his keys and almost dropping them, slowing to a stop in front of the yellow car. Eddie breathed heavily, leaning on his knees and he looked up when Frankie called for him, "You know how to drive, right?" he breathed out to him, and Eddie widened his eyes and scrambled to catch the keys from the air.
He nodded while wiping his chin with his wrist, shrugging, "More or less." and he opened the car door to the driver's side and jumped in. The car doors popped, signaling that it was unlocked for Frankie to safely open and hop in.
"You better not crash us, Munson."
Eddie scoffed through his nose and started the car—and almost out of instinct, he turned up the radio just in time for them to hear,
"All aboaaard....!" and Ozzy Osborne's maniacal laugh. Eddie laughed, turning to Frankie with his eyebrows raised, pointing to the radio,
"We're about to go off the rails, baby."
"Oh, pleasant!" Frankie breathed, putting on the seat belt, ears burning. His hand frantically tapped the dashboard of his precious car, "You'll be okay, baby. Please be okay." he whispered to it with his eyes squinted shut.
And Eddie put the car in reverse while laughing as loudly as the music—and so started The Crazy Train.

When they arrived at the trailer park, Frankie let Eddie know that Max's trailer was basically in front of his, and Eddie drove the familiar route that led him to the start of all of this in the first place. He pretended not to notice the strange looks that they got, driving around in an unfamiliar car through the slum of Hawkins, and someone that looked like Eddie Munson at the steering wheel.
Though Eddie pretended not to notice, Frankie certainly didn't because he immediately shifted in his seat and looked to the back seats behind them.
Eddie looked through his bangs and through the rear view mirror, catching sight of Frankie's exposed neck underneath the locks of brownish hair, him scanning the back seats. He blinked and averted his eyes, clearing his throat and taking a turn, "Uh, what are you looking for?"
"I thought I left it back here..." Frankie muttered, sitting back straight on his chair and looking through the rear view mirror after Eddie, "We were told your name'll be cleared, but it's not like the public knows yet, so I was looking for an old Halloween mask I had. It's probably in the trunk somewhere."
"Now you say that? You do know I've been driving this entire time? Half the town's probably seen my face."
"Well, it's early hours," Frankie shrugged and squinted his eyes, "It's not like the public knew you were the prime suspect either, so let's just hope they didn't and not take the chance, 'kay?"
