Y/N's life has always been filled with exciting and surprising moments, but nothing compares to what she is about to experience after moving to Spain after following her heart.
With a suitcase filled with summer clothes and no expectations, but to f...
One of the perks of working at FC Barcelona is that I get to watch the games in the VIP section. After grabbing some drinks, Lea and I took our seats overlooking the players' box in the field, finally getting to know Sira as she joins us as well.
"So y/n, I didn't get to be introduced to you at Pedri's party...but I heard that Pedri finally likes a girl" Sira shrieks as she nudges me, flashing me a big smile at the same time. Dear god, is there anybody at that party who didn't hear?
"Uh, I don't think he likes me like that..." I started but Sira, being another high energy person in the group, stops me, "Oh come on! There is no way that he would kiss you like that if he didn't! Do you fancy him?!"
Ok great, is there anybody at that party who didn't see? I look at Sira while blushing hard, she looks back at me with so much enthusiasm and eagerness for my answer that I started to worry that she'd actually feel pain if I dodge her question. "I mean, I think he is attractive! But I don't think he thinks of me more than a colleague! It's especially hard when I was the one who kissed him first..." I added, freeing Sira and Lea from their curious minds.
"Dios mio! We're in the 21st century, chica! It doesn't matter who did what first!" Lea adds while chugging half a glass of her second of beer of the night - just how much can this small girl drink? I drank a few glasses of wine in a span of two hours and I ended up kissing someone!
The girls insisted that I needed a solid salvage plan so we ended up talking more about what I should do next after hastily leaving Pedri on the scene the other night. Lea pushes that I should speak to Pedri right after this game, and while I would personally prefer that more time passes before I do that, I know that I owe Pedri an apology and that I'm in no position to feel embarrassed now, so I hesitantly gave the girls a small nod of agreement.
"It's set then! I messaged Gavi to meet us at the parking lot with Pedri after." Lea happily announces. There really is no escaping from this Sevillan sometimes.
It's now nearing the end of the 90-minute game but the score remains 0-0. My eyes widen as I see Gavi making a deep run to the right side of the field, taking the ball with him. Pedri raises his hand, motioning to Gavi to pass him the ball, a few Atleti midfielders in front of him, probably anticipating that Pedri will take the shot at the goal.
I keep my eyes focus on the field as Gavi finally notices that Pedri has more space, he sends the ball across the field, finally reaching Pedri's foot, he catches the ball before it even hit the ground. He dribbles past some defenders, pretending that he's about to shoot a few times while trying to lose Kondogbia (Atleti midfielder) who is directly blocking his way to the goal.
Pedri work your magic.
Just then, I could see him quickly look up, probably assessing where the keeper is and finally taking a hit at the ball with his left foot.
I didn't know that I was holding my breath until I heard a loud scream coming from me, accompanied by an immense feeling of proudness.
**GOOOOLLLLL. Gol de PEDRI!!!**
All three of us hug each other, jumping at the same time. Camp Nou erupting with Pedri's name being chanted by thousands of fans. The whole team runs to the side of the field, some of the benched players joining the celebration as well, encircling Pedri, but as soon as he is freed, he puts his arm up to thank all the fans. The energy in Camp Nou going up another notch.
