Y/n's POV:
We finally arrived at Pedri's childhood home after a fifteen minute drive from the airport to Tegueste. As I step out of the car, I was greeted by the view of their beautiful and charming home. At the main entrance, I could see Pedri's brother, Fernando, who flew into the island a few days before us, right beside him their grandmother.
"Pepi! Te extrañé mucho! (I missed you so much)" she cries out to him, I could see her eyes starting to form some gloss over it as she meets Pedri halfway and engulfing him into a hug.
"Abuela, finalmente!" Pedri says to his grandmother while burying his face into the crook of her neck. Aw. They must have missed each other so much! While his parents are able to go see him in Barcelona more often these days, it's not the same for his aging grandmother. As far as I know it has been a few months since the last time they saw each other over the holidays.
"I wish I can come more often than just Christmas time abuela..lo siento mucho" Pedri adds to his grandmother, "but, I'm here now, and I want to introduce you to someone very special to me." He says while he looks over to me, being a few steps behind him as we walk into their home.
Pedri extends his arms out for me to grab as we entered their living room. The same feeling of nervousness fills my body, I just know how much family means to him, so I really want to make a good first impression and not mess up.
"Abuela, this is y/n, mi novia." I smile at her, and ever since I moved back to Spain, I learned that I should be going in for a hug and a kiss on the cheek instead of being "too American," especially with family, so I instinctively extends both my arms out to Abuela and motions in for a kiss.
Thankfully she reciprocates with the biggest smile I have ever seen - which I thought was not possible because literally Pedri's whole family has greeted me with such contagious and warm smile the very first time I met them - "Mi hija, you are so beautiful! Pedri, buen trabajo! You are taking care of her, si?" She exclaims while giving him a playful slap on the arm.

We all sat down for lunch after being introduced to the rest of his family and a few friends who came by to greet him. I was amazed by the table full of delicious looking food that Maria prepared for us, which by the way we finished off in record breaking time, but now after helping clean up we are finally settling down in our rooms.
Since there is not enough spare rooms for all of us, Lea and I are taking their guest room, and Pedri and Gavi are staying in Pedri's room.
Lea and I spends the next half an hour unpacking and talking about the recent gossips with our own life dramas.
"So how's it going with the whole situation now with Gavi?" I ask her while I take a sit on our bed, Lea who is sitting on the floor with the sea of her clothes surrounding her, stops unpacking and turns to look at me. Oh boy. The oh so familiar "What am i going to do?" expression written all over her face. I swear to god I'm just going to have to knock some sense into their heads, even if it means locking them up in a room until they both confess.
"I don't know anymore.. Ever since that night at the club, I promised myself to just move on and take the hint..." She tells me and I was about to disagree but she already knows what I'm about to say, "now I know that you're about to remind me again that he likes me, blah blah blah, but, y/n, even if he actually does, I know that football is his top priority right now. He is on his way to his peak! I am not going to be a hurdle.." She whispers almost just to herself that I almost missed the sad tone coming from her, this is so unusual as she is more likely to be upbeat and positive, at least more than I am these days.
