Amira
Sundays, what a great day to say it's still the weekend and you can still have a good time until you remember you have school tomorrow. Well i have always forgotten about Sundays usually because i'm always too turnt from Saturday night but this one is different . My mom is forcing me to come to church with her after the last argument we had about me coming home late. I wish she would just understand that i am my own woman and i'm going to do what i want whether she likes it or not. As I finish getting ready, I put on my airpods and start blasting Super Rich Kids by Frank Ocean.

I grab my bag and head downstairs to get in the car, i was jumped on and giving a sloppy kiss by our lovely dog, Rocket. He's a German Shepherd that my dad got at the shelter his friend owns. As mom hongs the horn, i give him some food and water in his bowls, lock the door and get in the car.

Alica- what in God's green earth are you wearing?

Amira- um clothes?

Alica- Well might i say those shorts are way too short.

Amira- it's the summer and we live in hot ass Atlanta, do you expect me to wear jeans?

Alica- of course not but i would love to see you in one of those nice dresses i bought you and watch your damn mouth i am not one of your friends.

Amira- sorry mom but you know dresses aren't my thing.

Alica-mhm all i'm saying is it wouldn't hurt to change up your style.
Alica- mmm so do you remember that youth summer camp i told you about a couple weeks ago?

Amira- kind of, what about it?

Alica- well i may have possibly signed you up for it.

Amira- you did what?? why would you do that?

Alica- i thought it would be nice for you to interact with some kids your age who love God and can help you learn more about him. I should've had you in church more earlier but your father wasn't exactly a church going man and argued me down about giving you freewill to become your own person.

Amira- So this is Dad's fault? I'm sorry mom but i'm not going.

Alica- I never said it was your dad's fault, it's just we had totally different ideas on how to raise you that's all. But babe I think this will be a great opportunity for you so you will be going and at least giving it a try. You guys leave next month on a Friday i believe.

Amira- mom!!! you know i had plans this summer with Stephanie. Why are you trying to take that away from me?

Alica- No one's trying to take you away from anything. The camp is only for 3 weeks so you can hang out with her and do God knows what when you get back.

Amira- i have to spend a portion of my summer with complete strangers. Great.

Alica- they won't be strangers if you got to know them.

Amira- Yeah right. Where are we even going anyways?

Alica- to North Carolina. They rented out this really big cabin for everyone to stay in.

Amira- omggg i have an idea. Can i possibly invite Stephanie so this trip won't be as lame?

Alica- As long as Steph's parents are fine with it and get the paperwork to me by Wednesday, i have no problems with it.

Amira- yes thank you so much mom!!

Alica- mhm well get out we are here.

As i get out the car i feel the humidity of that hot Georgia weather beaming on my skin and i immediately regret coming. I put on my sunglasses and we go inside and where I see a bunch of people talking, getting snacks as the service is about to start. I walk over to get me a cup of lemonade and i bump into this really tall cutie.
