She sat in a chair, surrounded by people sitting in the same chairs, stressing as much as she is.

A guy, around her age, squeezed her hand, every time he pain struck him. She whispered things into his ears, only he could hear. He didn't perk up.

They watched new comers come in and others leave. It seemed it took forever.

A nurse turned the corner, clutching her clipboard. She looked at them, weary eyed, and shook her head.

He threw a fist on the arm rest. He feared this would happen.
