Authors POV: 3 months after Crepus' death at the hands of Ursa the Drake and 1 month after Diluc managed to get to Snezhnaya.

--------------------------------------------------------------

A tall, well-built red-haired man stands at the gates to the Fatui Headquarters, wielding a claymore dripping with pyro. He slashes the gates open, melting the lock before marching forward into the grounds. He reached the entry door, kicking it down and entering the large building.
He made his way through the building, wounding any Fatui diplomats and skirmishers he could find. All until he went to the back door, where he came across a figure that stuck out like a sore thumb when using elemental sight, brimming with cryo energy and an oddly sickening, unfamiliar energy, practicing combat with a claymore, one handing it. The red-haired man, known as Diluc, edged closer to the figure that dwarfed him by more than twice his height, trying not to provoke something like that.
The creature dashed away from him, twisting, revealing the dual row of icy spikes on his back and the cloak made of abyssal ice crystals, which rattled as he moved violently.
The creature turned to face Diluc, now floating, and its bird-like mask opened, allowing him to speak.
"To be honest, I was not expecting you to be here, Ragnvindr." The creature said in a voice so cold it could have frozen Diluc.
"Just what the hell are you?" Diluc interrogated.
A thick fog the colours of the creature's body started to form as he detransformed, missing the eye patch, but covering his right eye with his left hand throughout his conversation.
"What's wrong, Diluc? Don't you recognise me, your adoptive brother, Kaeya?" Kaeya says, walking out of his own mist.
"Kaeya? What are you doing here?" Diluc questioned, worried.
"Isn't it obvious, brother. I'm a member of the Fatui." Kaeya said sarcastically.

They then dashed towards each other, claymores clashing against each other sparks fraying off the edges. The wavy sword of Kaeya and the large straight sword of Diluc glide over the other as Kaeya was the more elegant fighter. The two men of differing backgrounds infuse their delusional elements onto their swords, and the same happens again and again, clashes of silvery blue and blackened red dance across the small battlefield until Diluc's blade gets caught in one of the parrying hooks on Kaeya's claymore. They wrestled with their blades. Diluc gasped as Kaeya drew a sword from his right waist and swung with his left hand, unbalancing Diluc and forcing him to fall back. Kaeya then thrust the claymore into the ground with one hand and started to apply pressure on Diluc, forcing him onto the defence. Diluc noticed Kaeya's cursed eye and the partial decay of flesh around it.
"I want to know why your eye is like that." Diluc asked, panting.
"The gods did this to me, brother, I joined the Fatui to get revenge for my people and for my own suffering." Kaeya answered, tears welling in his left eye
"Your people? What have you hidden from us?" Diluc inquired.
"Diluc, I'm the Crown Prince of the nation of Khaenri'ah, I'm over 500 years old and suffering from two curses put onto me by the gods above the Archons. The abyss order is what my people have become due to this curse. When we first met 7 years ago, I had been awake from  a state of suspended animation just a week and was in constant pain every day due to my two curses destroying and rebuilding me. I was there on a mission to make sure Crepus was trustworthy." Kaeya says to Diluc with a tone of regret.
"Kaeya. This is a lot to take in, firstly that monster was you, secondly you're 500 years old, finally your a fatui to get revenge on the highest ranked gods." Diluc asked Kaeya, questioning his own sanity.
"Yes to all three, brother. But it has to be this way as I am a harbinger after all," Kaeya says, preparing to launch an ice attack from his left hand.
Diluc used the moment of distraction to strike at Kaeya while he was charging the attack. Kaeya noticed this and went to block it, but the blade struck the back of his left hand, where the delusion was causing the attack to backfire, causing a massive cut and burn mark across the back of his hand and him to pass out.
"Oh, gods, what have I done, I've got to get him inside." Diluc asks himself as he drags Kaeya into the building only to bump into Dottore, inspecting his own handiwork.
"Wow, you really did a number on each other. Let me carry him, young Master Ragnvindr." Dottore said in a grim voice.

--------------------------------------------------------------
Two hours later, Kaeya is awake and getting his hand treated by Signora and Columbina while Dottore has words with Diluc.

Signora slapped the back of Kaeya's head and scolded him for being reckless.

"I have to commend you. You were able to injure one of the best fighters in the Fatui Harbingers. I would like you to join us in our endeavours and I'm sure your brother would want you on the same side." Dottore remarks.
"I just want to know what my father's deal with you was." Diluc answered.
"Crepus made a deal with me to look after Kaeya seven years ago, and as a reward, he got the delusion that is on your hand right now and immunity from any problems with us. I was just as broken after his death as he was a true friend. I got our revenge on that dragon that killed him."
"Oh? Thank you, Doctor, I want that thing's skull." Diluc said, inching closer.
"You're always welcome here, Dawnbringer. The skull will be in a special room for you to visit."
"What is with you calling me 'Dawnbringer', Dottore?"
"That is your Harbinger title. You have been accepted into the harbingers. You have no official responsibilities, unlike Kaeya and I, who are founding members as we are over 500 years old." Dottore exposed to Diluc.

Kaeya winced again from the ointment on his hand and a mysterious pale blue gem in a larger frame than a delusion socket floated down in front of him, and he grabbed it, inspecting it.
"Is that what I think it is, a Cryo vision." Dottore and Diluc say in unison.

"You may return to Mondstadt, and do not forget to grab your pyro vision when you return, we will have a meeting in a few months to discuss this. I want to see you there." Dottore informed Diluc.

Diluc left the building and went back to the dawn winery, contemplating what had just happened.
