Authors POV: celebrating Teyvat's version of Christmas.
Kaeya's condition had improved after his 2 month trek from Mondstadt back to his new home in Snezhnaya. He was out celebrating among the people and being supervised by Pantalone in the city. Pantalone being exasperated by Kaeya's near endless appetite for new foods and treats and running out of change really wants Kaeya to stop and go back to the Palace.
"Kaeya, do you want to go back to the Palace and share some of your treats with The Doctor?" a tired and almost penniless Pantalone suggested to the eye-patched 15 year old.
"Sure, Uncle Pants." Kaeya says with a massive smile on his face
The duo walked back to the palace and to the room where the second harbinger spends most of his time tinkering with his segments where he is currently inhabiting his Alpha build (which is wearing his signature bird mask).
"Zandik, are you there?" Kaeya and Pantalone say in unison, knocking on the door.
"Of course I am. You may come in." Zandik said through the door.
The duo opens the door, and Kaeya runs to place his well collected loot on a spare table in the corner. All this while the doctor has his back turned working on one of his newer segments, specifically one aged about 10 to 14 years of age. He adds a final finishing touch to the segment, naming him, Gamma, before turning around looking at Kaeya's gifts for him, then finishing the turn to face his 'nephew' and his colleague
"Gods, sometimes I hate those masks." Dottore says, removing the beak like mask from his face with a hiss.
Kaeya nearly jumped out of his skin after seeing the mechanical area where the mask once connected.
"Oh, sorry, Kaeya, it seems you know the truth about many of my segments now." Zandik said, replacing the mask. "Thanks for the gifts, although I'm not one to celebrate this sort of thing, I appreciate it."
Suddenly, Kaeya fell to the ground and clutched his right arm in pain, causing the two harbingers to panic. "There is a disturbance in the abyss nearby." Kaeya said weakly, struggling with a headache.
Once Kaeya had recovered, he requested the two gay uncles to follow him to a spot where a small leak of abyssal power was. Kaeya proceeded to remove the glove from his right hand.
"I sense a person in the abyss close to this spot." Kaeya says, expanding the hole in reality and diving inside.
Inside the abyss, looking for a humanoid figure, Kaeya came across a young man holding a short sword dripping with blood.
"Hey, you there, aren't you the young Snezhnayan boy that went missing 3 months ago?" Kaeya yelled to the figure.
The figure turns towards Kaeya's overwhelming presence in the abyss.
"Three months? For me, it felt like years, but I just haven't grown any since I got here." The anomaly said.
"Come with me, I'll get you out of this hell hole." Kaeya said, holding his right hand out to him.
"Sure, nice to meet you. My name is Ajax." The boy said.
"I'm Kaeya. Nice to meet you, too." Kaeya says, given the marginally smaller boy a piggyback ride.
"Thanks, I owe you," Ajax says, exhausted
"You owe me nothing." Kaeya tells him.
Kaeya jumped out the tear in reality, with Ajax clinging to his back, passed out.
"Uncle Zandik, I found someone in there." Kaeya says, standing up, trying to keep the unconscious child up. "He is really not well. He's been surviving in the Abyss for 3 months in our time, but it is 3 years in the abyss."
"Fine, we can take him back to my infirmary for treatment." Dottore said reluctantly.
"If you believe me, he could be the youngest Harbinger in history. He survived in the most dangerous place in the world for three years." Pantalone suggested to Dottore.
"Great, now I have to treat the wounds and injuries of this boy, inform his family, and recommend him to Pierro and the Tsaritsa. Thanks for giving me more work than I have already." Dottore complained.
"I could do it so you don't have so much work to complete. He only has a small wound on his side." Kaeya says offering to do the recommending.
The trio of idiots known as The Doctor, Regrator, and The Successor carry the unconscious child and then attend the celebratory feast put on by the Tsaritsa herself. Kaeya personally recommended Ajax to her in the dying moments of the celebrations.
It was later found that Ajax was capable of transforming into a form imbued with abyssal strength, which earned him the position of The 11th of the 11 Fatui harbingers. Even still, Kaeya still out ranks him, in both age and position. They do have training sessions with Dottore and Capitano every now and again, with Kaeya keeping Childe up to date with fighting techniques during this training is when Childe got his vision as he shared his strong sense of justice with Kaeya while sparring.
