Long Drive

"Shen Yue."

"Hmm."

It was almost 10pm when they started the long drive. Yue didn't ask him where he was going to. She liked the mystery.

"Are you unhappy these few days?" He asked.

She glanced sideways to look at his face. He looked fresh after a quick nap but she could see he had been waiting to ask her this question.

"Why would I be? What's this about?" She smiled. There is one thing about their relationship she really appreciate. Honesty.

"Well, we have been on HS and some of our fans were on bad terms." He carefully worded his sentence. His eyes were still on the road. "I'm wondering if you were bothered by....the remarks."

Ahhh, so finally she knew what was bothering him.

"Chen Zheyuan, we are long enough in the industry to know this is just a marketing strategy. And those words....I don't mind anymore."

"Are you sure?" Again, his voice was laced with concern. "I have had my share of negative rumors ever since I debuted. I just don't want it to involve you. Not when we are just getting started...to date. Yue, if you feel—-"

She noticed he was gripping the steering wheel, he was clenching his jaw again.

"Baobei."

The car swerved violently suddenly and she screamed. "CHEN ZHEYUAN!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"

"Sorry sorry sorry...I got...got...I was, was...."

"Aren't you a professional driver?" Yue asked, her heart racing. She started to imagine the headline tomorrow 'Actors Shen Yue and Chen Zheyuan were found in a car crash.'

She shook her head and realized Yuan had parked the car at the side of the road. His head was on the steering wheel. Initially, she thought he was crying but when he looked up, he had big grin on his face.

"How can you laugh? I was scared to death!!"

"You called me baobei."

"Did I? So maybe I did."

"Call me that again."

Yue blinked, looking at his boyish grin. Then she realized.... he was utterly whipped! She started giggling.

"Baobei"

She felt his lips on hers and started kissing him back, her arms went around him and his around her. When they pulled apart, they were both grinning.

Yuan shook his head. "Never ever say something like that the next time I'm driving. I'll kiss you to death."

"But how would I —" Yue stopped herself, biting her lips. Her heart was still pounding from their kiss.

"Shen Yue, everything you say, I listen. Everything you don't tell me, I know. I dunno why but ever since we got together, I'm hyper sensitive when it comes to you."

She chuckled and nodded. "Okay."

"What do you wanna say to me before our ahem....?"

She turned to face him and took his hands. "I want you to know that we will go through any challenges ahead together. I'm braver this time. I know I am. You give me the courage. Aren't we a power CP? Will we be easily torn down by the negativity?"

In the darkness, she saw him smiled and her heart was relieved.

"Yes. We are the power CP." he squeezed her hands. "Now please refrain from saying something out of ordinary."

"No baobei?"

"Is that what you're calling me from now on? Or is that a one time sweetness you're offering?"

"Depends."

"Stingy."

The car finally moved again and Yue suddenly said. "I want to be at IQIYI night....with you." She saw him smiling and nodding.

"Yes, Shen Laoshi. And—-" he threw a glance at her. "Don't worry, I will hold your 3m train dress."
