It took them a couple of days till they had everything ready for the kids. They had to make up the bedrooms and pick out clothes for the children that was their styles and helped them understand what would be happening under their roofs as they live there.

Finally, it came to their move in date.

*Henderson house*

"Okay, here we are. I want you kids to get a feel of the place before we all go clothes shopping." Mrs. Henderson said while Dustin, Steve, and Robin walked into their new home. Dustin walked through the living room then into the kitchen before shifting over down a hallway then entered in the first bedroom, which was his room since his name was plastered on the front of the door. His jaw dropped as he gazed inside.

It was bigger than his own room in the lab. He has his own closet, a dresser, a bed, and even a desk. There were even toys. Dustin never had his own toys in his room. He even saw there was a turtle in a cage that sat on the edge of the desk. He was starting to like this place... until...

Meow...

Dustin felt himself freeze up. Slowly, he turned around to see an orange cat walking through the doorway. Dustin began shivering.

"I'm calling him, Galileo," Dustin told his friends as he held up the small gray kitten with tan spots all around his paws, which he had found lurking around the fencing area the one time they had been given permission to go outside for a little walk. Everyone was awing the small kitten and took turns petting it and holding it.

Dustin hid Galileo in his room for the most part, feeding him a few scraps and watering it from a small bowl, he was able to take with him from the lunch room. A few times, he brought the kitten to the Rainbow Room where they carefully took turns holding him and playing with it. A couple of times he let the others bring it back to their rooms.

They had Galileo for a couple of weeks... then one day, they were suddenly hurried into one of the lab rooms where they were lined up against the wall, except for Steve who was pull into the center of the room.

"I know this isn't our usual time for testing, but I have found a little surprise among your rooms." Dr. Brenner had said, his eyes looming over each and everyone, "Care to guess what it is?"

No one said a word. Dr. Brenner snapped his fingers. One of the guards walked up, holding Galileo tightly around the neck. Galileo whimpered and meowed loudly as it struggled to escape the guard's grasp. Dustin wanted to rush up to take Galileo back but Eddie held his arm firmly.

"Does anyone know who's kitten this is?" Dr. Brenner asked, with a stern frown.  No one said a word. Dr. Brenner then took hold of the kitten before setting it down in front of Steve.

"Then Six, if you will, I would like you to practice your powers on the kitten." Dr. Brenner ordered Steve. At first nothing bad happened. Dr. Brenner had Steve make the kitten do a few silly tricks, which got a few giggles out of the kids and a few of the teens. However...

"Now, Six, I would like it if you would order the kitten to break its bones." Dr. Brenner suddenly asked. Everyone became quiet. Dustin's eyes widened; his lips parted in horror.

"Papa... it's... it's just a kitten." Steve argued back. Dr. Brenner glared at Steve before motioning his head at the guards. The guards stormed over towards where Dustin and Eddie were standing. They quickly grabbed hold of Eddie, who fought to get out of their grip when they put the shock collar on Eddie's neck.

"If you do not do the task, Six, I will have no choice but to shock Five." Dr. Brenner warned Steve. For a moment, Steve didn't make any attempt to use his powers. Then... Eddie's screamed filled the room; his body jerking around like a fish out of water. It lasted for a couple of minutes till finally they stopped electrocuting Eddie.

"Last chance, Six. I order you to make the kitten break its bones or should Five get another round of shock therapy." Dr. Brenner demanded while he turned the dial to a higher number. Steve darted his eyes between Eddie, Dustin and the kitten. Dustin pleaded with Steve to not do it when his sight was blocked by Nancy. Nancy wrapped her around Dustin, her arms clung tightly around his head as she was humming some old lullaby as loudly as she could so Dustin couldn't hear... but Dustin heard it.

"Dustin?"

Dustin's head shot up as he saw Mrs. Henderson standing in the doorway.

"Everything alright?" she asked him, a look of concern plastered on her face.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Dustin lied. She gazed down; her look of concern changed dramatically into a gleam of joy.

"I see you've met, Mews. He's what you call a cat. I'm not sure if you ever seen one before, being locked up in that horrible lab." Mrs. Henderson said, picking up Mews, "Would you like to hold him?"

Dustin nodded as he took hold of Mews and gently held him in his arms while listening to him purr against his chest.

"I'll leave you two alone for a few minutes while I get the car ready." Mrs. Henderson told him before turning on her heels and  heading back towards the living room. Dustin stood there for a couple of minutes, gently petting Mews on his head.

"Hey whatcha got there?" Dustin looked up to see Robin and Steve walking in.

"This is Mews, it's Mrs. Henderson's cat." Dustin told them.

"Oh, he's such a cutie." Robin claimed as she reached and began petting Mews.

"Yeah, he sure is." Steve said while reaching his hand out to pet Mews. Before Steve could pet Mews, Dustin jolted back, clinging tightly onto the cat. The jolt shocked both Robin and Steve. For a moment, no one said anything till Robin cleared her throat.

"Dustin, why don't you take Mews to the kitchen? I'm sure he might be hungry or thirsty, you know?" Robin suggested to Dustin. Without so much as an answer, Dustin scurried out of the room and towards the kitchen.

"He hates me." Steve whimpered, watching Dustin leave the room.

"No, he doesn't." Robin assured him.

"Face it, Robin, he's never going to forgive me for what I did."

"He understands that you had no choice in the matter. There was no win-win situation for anyone. You had to choose between the poor kitten or Eddie. Someone was going to die that day and even if you didn't kill the kitten, it was probably going to be killed by one of the guards or something." Robin insisted to him, "You know Brenner only made you do it because he saw you two getting close for comfort for his taste and he wanted to break your bond with Dustin."

"I guess he won then, huh?" Steve asked while he walked out of Dustin's room like a man walking to his death sentence.
