Rena and I started putting our case together the day I called him. I had immediately gone out to get a pregnancy test, then snapped a photo of it with the receipt, and sent it to Rena. I took screenshots of our conversations, the ones with him and with Rena, and saved them to a file in a passcode-locked app, along with the screen recording of my phone call with her.

I asked Noël if they'd make a statement describing the situation. He and I hadn't been around each other in over two months, so there was no way I was less than six weeks pregnant and suffering from debilitating morning sickness, as they heard him state over the phone. I asked them to record him or to write down what he says at least, if possible.

I collected bank statements from Noël's card to show everything had been purchased or ordered in Louisiana. If I could get my hands on his statements too, it would concretize the argument that I was never near him.

I wanted to collect sufficient evidence against him before contacting a lawyer. This seemed like enough proof to sue him for defamation, especially since he was speaking ill of me behind my back.

By this point, Noël played an instrumental role in our case. I needed to know what he was saying about me to his clients. If he was willing to lie about things like this, there was no telling what else he was spewing.
