Maya was relieved to go back to work on Monday. The whole weekend was such a blur for her, she had felt like she hadn't slept in days when she left the Elite. Kal took her home and stayed with her until he had to meet up with his team for their night mission. She was able to call her mother who was at the hospital working a double, Pop was at home fixing something that didn't need to be fixed. Each of them told her she would be okay and that they were there for her if and when she needed them. At the moment all she wanted was a cup of coffee and to work on the impossible task of organizing the European files for her boss.Normal was all she wanted at the moment but like true Maya fashion she would not get what she wanted. Outside her coffee shop stood Kal with two cups of coffee.

She took the one he offered and kept walking. He followed, "Don't you ever sleep?" She spat out.

He knew she was upset and had every right to be. He didn't take her spat personally, "Elite remember, we don't need as much sleep as mortals. You'll be the same way once you learn how to control your gifts."

"I'm so over this right now." She said.

Kal took her hand stopping her, he needed to tell her this before she had another reason to actually be mad at him, "Maya please."

She stopped checking her attitude. She wasn't mad at him, just the impossible situation she now found herself in. "What is it Kal?" She asked with genuine sincerity.

"Maya, I like you, a lot. I don't know if this is the Gods interfering or me or both, but all I know is I can't stop thinking about you. All night I worried about you." He said, "I don't want you to hate me for being the one who showed you this new life that has you questioning who you are now."

She placed her hand on his cheek, he closed his eyes at her touch, "Kal I don't hate you at all. I don't like this situation I find myself in but I could never hate this. I might be confused as fuck right now but deep down I know this is right. I never truly felt like myself all these years. After you left last night I thought about everything and it makes since. I've only been using part of who I am all this time, maybe using my gifts will help me become who I truly am. I just hope you still feel this way after I find who I am meant to be."

"That could never happen." He said before pulling her in for a deep longing kiss. His hands explored their way down her back feeling every glorious curve of her body.

Once they reached her butt Maya pulled away, "Kal!" she exclaimed, slapping him on the shoulder. "We are in public. And what if my boss walks by."

He just laughed, "No one is paying us any attention." His accent made everything sound so much better.

She kissed his cheek before leaving, "I'll see you after work."

If she didn't know any better she would think the Gods were playing a joke on her because Mark, Jon and Scott came walking up at the same time she turned from Kal. Once she thought about it, maybe the Gods are playing with her. Jon had the biggest grin on his face as they scanned their ID letting them in the building.

"So?" Was all he said.

Maya played dumb, "What?"

Mark spoke up while they waited for the next elevator, "Looks like your weekend was better than mine."

"I doubt that." She said.

Jon spoke up, "Seriously after we all went home you know after your birthday, Mark and Jack here were all hot and heavy."

"What the hell dude you watching or something cause weren't even doing that much." Mark said.

Jon waved him off, "Thin walls."
