Chapter 12

Aiden's POV:

As soon as she lifted her head and we made eye-contact once again, her eyes widened and she gasped.

Shit.

"Aiden, go on before they think something's wrong.", I felt father nudge me forwards.

She'll be uncomfortable with me.

She already pushed me away once. I don't think I'd be able to do that again.

"Why doesn't Titan dance instead? I'm feeling a bit tired out.", I laughed nervously and looked over at him, smiling. He just continued to sit there and stare back at me. 

I looked back to the ballroom floor to see Liam and Selene standing there. Her head was still down, but she wasn't fiddling with her hands anymore. 

'Just go dance with her. It will comfort us, Aiden.' Mason purrs.

The only reason he wants to is so he can be close to her.

"Alright. Fine, let's get this over with.", I see a small smile on mothers face as she walks down the stairs with me, getting closer and closer to Selene.

I could smell her crisp perfume and her natural scent. 

She smelt lovely, and I can't deny that.

As we grew closer, the warmth from earlier returns. I could hear Mason humming inside my head. 

She must've also felt it because she looked up.

Even though the shock of me being the Alpha's son was on her face, it was soon washed with what I can guess is a fake smile.

Which I returned. Two can play that game.

"Hello Liam.", Mother smiled and bowed, which he did back.

"Serenity! I'm so happy for you dear, for finding your mate!", He chuckled and gave a her a small hug to the side.

Selene's eyes found mine as they continued a bit of the small talk until we were interrupted by a cough.

"Anyways, Aiden. This is my Niece Selene. The princess's daughter!", By the tone of his voice you could tell he was proud of her being related to him.

Selene looked up at me before giving me a small smile and curtsying.

Her eyes were puffy red on the rims, and her cheeks were bright red. 

'We caused this.."

'Cut it out mason. She doesn't want us so we will show her the same thing."

I looked back at her with an emotionless face, and nodded at her uncle's introduction.

"Alright you two. The music has began!" I looked behind me to see them walking away from us, laughing and smiling while talking about some stupid story from the past.

"So, where were we?", I put my hand out for hers. 

She took in a deep breath and took my offer.

I gripped on to her hand and glided us to the middle of the room.

From where everyone was standing they could see how beautiful the rhythms of the dancing was. Everyone stood in awe as they saw how in sync the two lovers were. They continued to swirl around and around, keeping in-tune with the music. From what everyone could see it looked like two normal people.

But from the inside, Aiden and Selene could feel all the sparks from within as their bodies grew closer and closer as the music continued. Their guardians were in content, as so were they.
