"Fine, i'll go this weekend only if we stop by my favorite food place after." Finney says into the phone, walking down the dorm hallway.
"Yeah, yeah whatever. Got to go, Griff is here." Billy says, hanging up quickly.
Finney laughs, shoving his phone in his back pocket once he reaches his dorm door.
Today was...weird? He comforted Robin which was something he thought he would never do, and he was late for class for the first time in a long time.
Now, he was finally back "home" after staying at the library for a while. It now being 7:12pm.
He unlocks the door, opening and closing it quickly. He's immediately hit with a mouth watering smell.
Finney quickly kicks off his shoes by the door, peeking around the wall into the kitchen. He immediately goes slack with confusion.
Robin was standing with his back turned to Finney, chopping away at something on the counter.
Beside him, was a pot Finney didn't even know they had, boiling and steaming.
Finney looks back towards Robin who is dressed out in a tank top and sweats. He hears faint music, which is probably coming from Robins headphones.
Finney smiles a bit, deciding not to make his presence known yet by going to change quickly.
Once he's in his room, he puts on some black sweatpants, and an old band tee. As soon as he's done, he shuffles out of his room to find out what the other is making.
Finney walks up beside Robin, who is still in the same spot. Robin nearly jumps when he notices Finney beside him, taking and putting his headphones around his neck.
"Shit, nearly gave me a heart attack." Robin mumbles, staring down at what he was chopping in hopes to hide his face thats red with embarrassment.
Finney laughs, "Sorry, just was curious on what you were making. That's all." He says, looking inside the pot.
Robin brightens up, "It's coconut chicken curry! My mami used to make it, so why not make it, right?" He proudly says. (my favorite food rn.)
"Ohhh, it sounds good! You were planning to share it with me right?" Finney teases, smiling softly.
"Duh, I won't be able to make all this." Robin teases back, looking at and returning the smile to Finney.
They stare at eachother too long, clearing their throats when realizing. Finney rubs his neck awkwardly, Robin staring down at his hands again.
"You need any help?" Finney says, hoping to relieve the awkwardness.
Robin nods slowly, "Uh, yeah. You can cut up some cilantro." He replies, nodding in the direction of the said item.
Finney just nods, rolling up his sleeves, and getting to work.
-
"What the fuck?! This is so good Robin, holy shit." Finney exclaims, after he takes his first bite of his plate.
Robin beams, cheeks red from the praise. "Thanks Finn." He says, watching fondly as the other boy stuffs his face.
Finney looks up at him from his plate, eyes going soft as he realizes how happy Robin looks in that moment. He doesn't ever remember seeing him like this in school.
Robin chuckles, digging into his food.
-
"I'm serious, i've never had something like that before. You would make an awesome cool or something." Finney says from his place at the sink where he's washing the dishes.
"You're so over dramatic, I doubt it was that good." Robin says, drying off the plate Finney handed him.
Finney shakes his head in disagreement. "Nope, telling the truth." He says, softly smiling.
Robin just laughs, continuing to dry the dishes coming his way.
-
"You going to class tomorrow?" Finney questions, wiping off the sides of the sink.
"Yeah, don't want to get behind. I have work after though, which is going to suck." Robin says, leaning back onto the counter next to Finney.
"I should probably find a job, maybe at the corner store a few minutes away." Finney says, hanging the kitchen towel up.
Robin hums in acknowledgment, rubbing his eye. Finney turns to him, "Well, i'm gonna go to sleep. I'm tired as shit." He says, chuckling.
"yeah, i should too probably." Robin replies, following Finney down the hall to their rooms.
As Finney goes to close his door, Robin speaks up.
"Hey uh, thanks for being nice to me i guess. Most people would have just told me to grow up or something." Robin admits, eyes going soft with admiration when he looked into Finneys eyes.
Finneys eyes show empathy, "Of course Robin, those people can fuck themselves. No one deserves to be by themselves like that." He admits, offering a soft barely there smile.
Robin nods, mirroring the same smile.
"Night Finn." He says, walking into his room.
"Goodnight Robin." Finney replies, shutting his door behind him.
Both of them falling asleep with a certain person on their mind.
