With Karina’s nod of approval, the woman knelt down and opened the fridge door, glancing inside at the copious packets of pureed fruits and several bottles of soju.

“I once had to pretend i was the girlfriend of a VIP so nobody knew he had a bodyguard.”

Reaching in, Winter tilted up one of the soju bottles to read the label. “Oh, Chamisul is a good brand,”

she whispered softly, barely loud enough for Karina to hear.

Watching in silence, Karina could only shake her head and reach up to pinch her cheek to make sure this was really happening.

“Okay,so let’s go over this again,” Karina said, breaking a long minute of silence as she drew her legs up to sit cross legged on the bed.

“As far as anyone is going to know, you are the daughter of my dad’s friend. You are from Daegu and recently transferred here for college. My father asked me to help you get used to Seoul and here we are.” "It’s workable,"

Karina said before closing the fridge door and duck walking to the middle of the room and sinking down to sit, dark eyes casting upwards to look at Karina.

“The best cover stories require little depth. The more detail we pile on,the more we have to memorize, the easier it is to make a mistake and get caught in a lie. This will allow us to be truthful in stating we just met and know little about each other.” “You’re the expert,” Karina said with a tiny smile.

“My first class isn’t till 9:30 tomorrow morning. I usually leave early and meet up with my friends at the cafeteria for breakfast. Afterwards i head to Young-Yi Hall for class. Is that okay?”

"You don’t have to ask if it’s okay," Winter replied with a soothing tone in her voice.

“I’m only here to keep you safe. If you want to meet your friends for breakfast, then by all means,do so. I can either join you and be introduced or stay back, someplace close by where  i can watch and observe.”

Catching herself, she cleared and tore her eyes away. “If you are going to be around all the time,i think it’s best just to get the introductions out of the way. I’m mostly worried about the commotion they are going to make when they see you. I mean, they are all pretty but you’re on a different level.”

She glanced sidelong at Winter, the woman blushing softly and looking down, seemingly pleased at the praise.

“You flatter me. Honestly, once i am dressed down i will fit right in. I just did myself up for our first meeting today. Here, let me show you.”

Reaching into the inside pocket of her jacket, Winter pulled out her phone and thumbed it to life. Eyes intent, tongue sticking out ever so slightly between her lips in concentration, she group up her photo gallery and started scrolling through.

Karina's eyes fell on Winter’s tongue, soft and pink, jutting out ever so slightly from between those wonderfully shaped lips.

“Gah,” she thought and tore her eyes away again. “Here.” Winter got up onto her knees and shuffled towards Karina, phone held out so she could see the image that took up the screen.

A picture of Winter in a black Taekwondo uniform, face painted with black stripes and a black bandana stretched across her forehead while standing in a fighting pose.

Still, there was no mistaking the golden ration that made up the woman’s face, somehow managing to still look pretty instead of fierce.

“Nope. Not convinced,” Karina said with a sigh.

“I just have to ask again, before you meet my friends. You really aren’t going to report my activities back to my father? Or anyone else for that matter?” There was a deep worry in Karina’s voice, the girls eyes all but pleading.
