charles lennon often walked alone, and now it was clear why. his headphones stayed in almost all day, and he blasted the music that came from his device.

on this particular wednesday morning he was just the same. tuning everyone out, only responding to any of their comments as they approached him with a, "mhm," "wow." or "cool."

considering he was so well known, harley was almost sure he'd have more friends, or people to hang around with but he didn't. other than football it seemed as if he didn't almost everything alone.

"hi." a small voice came from the other side of his locker, in which he attempted to ignore, raising the volume on his headphones.

"charlie?" he moved one headphone behind his ear, now shutting his locker to be greeted by ronnie who offered a shy smile, waving a little as she held her own camera firmly.

"hi." he responded, seeming shocked that it was her but, his voice staying low. he was calm and his eyes travelled down to the camera she held up, her smile growing.

"i'm shooting this friday's game again, wanna do something?" she rocked on her heels nervously, watching him as she quietly bit her lip and he looked back up to meet her eyes before responding.

"don't you shoot every game?" his tone was soft as he asked this but he didn't really mean for it to be, he shifted awkwardly in his stance while waiting for her response in which she stammered in.

"ye- yeah, but it's just some other girl joined photography. so i was worried i wouldn't be able to." as ronnie spoke it was clear she was growing less confident, and now as charles furrowed his eyebrows at the news, gesturing to the camera, she did the same.

"a new girl?"

"i don't think so." she responded, watching him closely as he raised his eyebrows, waiting for her to go on.

"pretty sure she's returning. i'm also pretty sure her names harley." she fidgeted with the camera, switching it from one hand to another while staring up at charles who was in a moment of staring at the floor.

"-she got this camera i wanted. so that sucked-"

he was able to tone out most people's voice on the daily, and he did that now as he thought harder about the fact that harley was back in photography, and she would be back on the field.

it wasn't his nostalgia to feel, but charles still felt it as he reminisced about every single time she was out there on the field, yelling at the team all while taking pictures with her group mates, experiencing the time of her life.

harley was good at it too, he credited her for that.

"so?"

one blink allowed him to look back over to ronnie who still stared up at him intently, waiting for the answer that she still hadn't gotten.

"we'll do something, yeah." the minute he tuned back into the conversation the bright noise was brought back into his head, and that's all he could focus on as he waited for ronnie's reaction.
