(Believe it or not this was created back in 2021, and I guess I kinda drop it and never finished it)

(Either from lack of information on how the topics around here works or loss of motivation, it'll forever be a mystery.)

(But I do hope that it'll entertain you, even for just a bit :>)

His eyes gazed upon the scene in front of him, lips pursed into a thin line. In his hand is a notebook, that was supposedly used to write evidence was filled with nothing but doodles, as he does have a small passion for arts.

Oof never really cared much about the world around him, as he's sometimes lost in his own little world. He has always been quiet, blend in within the background, observing the buzzling world around him...

Perhaps that is what dragged him into this.

Being observant, and blending in within the background is a perfect combination to become a detective. That way, anyone with those two combinations would easily retrieve information without getting caught.

He had solved cases within cases. Most of them about the loss of treasures around the town. Thief after thief, all captured and arrested a week right after he is put to the case.

It wasn't impressing, after all some people would say that some other detectives can solve cases in mere days. Yet he isn't here to impress society, he's here to bring justice.

However, this case seems rather... different, to put it in a way. It's interesting for him, as he took it as a challenge for him to try and solve.

"Huh... so no one has been able to solve it?" Oof glanced at the chief, who's fixing his trench coat yet once again after the last five minutes. He let out a heavy sigh, before nodding reluctantly. "Yes... its a rather embarrassing thing to claim, but yes. No one has been able to find the culprit of these cases for the last two months. I've been doubting to either tell you this or not, but since no one is able to solve it, I suppose we can give you a shot. No offense."

Oof nodded, deciding not to take the chief's words to heart. "No offense taken. I'll try my best to solve this." Oof himself fixed the tie that hanged by his neck. "Is there perhaps a hint this person accidently left? Like the last ones, you know?"

Yet the answer the chief gave is rather surprising. One that he didn't expect.

"Its interesting this time, Oof. This person left a hint. A card, to be specific. It hints where they would start their next action." The chief opened the drawer nearby and took out a card that is inside of a plastic zip. "Maybe this can help you with this case."

Oof accepted the plastic zipped card, as his gloved hands carefully inspect the piece of clue given. It had a rather cursive writing, and a fancy one in fact. He squinted his eyes slightly to read, trying to recall what these cards are called.

"Ah," he snapped his fingers lightly once remembering. "These are known as calling cards. It's a way to notify the victim that they're going to have a treasure stolen." He then scrunched his face. "Yet... it's supposed to be for the victim, so why would this person leave the card at the place they've stolen from...?"

The chief shrugged, before slumping down the chair nearby. "We've been trying to solve this for the last two months, yet no progress whatsoever. Not even a dent." He sighed. Oof didn't pay much attention to the man's words, as he is rather lost in his thoughts trying to connect the dots.

The thief must've placed this calling card as a way to communicate with the authorities and the victim. Yet in most stories I've heard, they usually left it at for a different victim...unless the same victim is going to be robbed once again.
