It is the first hour, the first day of school.
And how much Wei Wuxian had regretted showing up, his back had already started aching terribly by the time he had gotten through the first flight of stairs.
He wined, pulling on his brothers arm.
A groan came from the one beside him as he scoffed, rolling his eyes at Wei Wuxian.
Jiang Cheng, "Stop whining, we are going to be late!"
Wei Wuxian, "Ahh! But maybe old man QiRen isn't here today! Come on A-Cheng!!"
Jiang Cheng sighs, before looking at Wei Wuxian, the boys perfect features ruined by the horrible cries that escaped his mouth.
He scoffed looking away towards the second flight of stairs that awaited them, unmoving.
Jiang Cheng, "Look Wei Wuxian! If you don't start moving don't ever bother to ask me for help if you get into a pissy fight with the old man QiRen!"
Wei Wuxian gasped, letting go before stumbling and falling against the staircase wall.
He groans in pain before standing properly, rubbing his back in hopes of the pain going away.
Jiang Cheng rolls his eyes,
Jiang Cheng, "Stop being so dramatic, it wasn't like you feel down the stairs."
Wei Wuxian scoffed silently,
Wei Wuxian, "Well you're not experiencing the pain I feel right now! I bet Shije would actually care if she were here. She wouldn't like the way you're treating me!"
Jiang Cheng, "Don't you dare bring up A-Li in this!! Let's just get to class!"
He grabbed Wei Wuxian by the collar, pulling him up the stairs, down the hall and into the classroom.
Wei Wuxian hadn't had the moment to pause until many eyes were on him, watching him silently as he hears a almost invisible scoff behind him.
He could imagine the face that stood behind him, judging him ever so slightly.
It brought a smile to his face.
Lan QiRen, "Wei Wuxian. Jiang Cheng."
Jiang Cheng was the first to bow, showing his upmost respect instead of Wei Wuxian, who stood beside him, not moving.
Lan QiRen looked at Wei Wuxian, his face calm but stern, you could tell he wasn't that far from reaching his limits.
That old man had a terrible temper.
Lan QiRen, "Wei Wuxian."
Wei Wuxian smiled, looking at the old man with a tint of mischief.
Wei Wuxian, "Yes old man QiRen."
Jiang Cheng felt his heart pound in his chest, his whole face turned red in embarrassment as he stared at Wei Wuxian, standing beside him with no a single tint of embarrassment in his face, and if he did it wasn't showing.
Lan QiRen, "Wei Wuxian! Have manners, won't you? Is that a way to talk to you're elders?"
Jiang Cheng closed his eyes, sending silent prayers to the non existent gods.
Wei Wuxian, "But was I wrong? You are an old man, my elder at that."
Lan QiRen'a face grew red, he was surely going to get it now thought Jiang Cheng.
Lan QiRen, "Why you—!"
A knock was heard on the door.
Wei Wuxian turned around to see two tall figures behind the door, standing quietly and patiently.
QiRen sighed before giving Wei Wuxian one final glance as he headed for the door, opening it.
A smile soon grew on his face, all the anger that had just been present was long gone, no longer there.
Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng stared at each other before staring at the boys who had once stood behind the door.
QiRen stepped aside allowing the men
inside before closing the door behind them.
He turned to look at his class, that including another additional glare before introducing the two men who stood beside him.
Lan QiRen, "These are my nephews, they are the example you should follow in how you should be as a student."
He glared at Wei Wuxian before looking back at his nephews before nodding at them.
The two men beside him understood before one of them took a step forward, a clear, soft smile was graced onto his lips, his steps light and careful.
There wasn't a single drop of uncertainty in his figure, he stood tall, confident and prepared.
He spoke, with a soft, low voice, the tune as sweet a honey, just as welcoming.
"I'm Lan Xichen, and this is my brother,—"
He turned to his brother, giving him a soft smile, a nod was returned.
The boy behind him hadn't moved or spoken a word.
"— Lan Wangji." Xichen finished.
The boy behind him finally moved, taking a step forward beside his brother, observing the class silently.
His face was expressionless, a cool aura surrounded him.
He stood just as tall, though his steps were light, they shared some uncertainty, he hadn't experienced something like this before.
But still, despite the visible expressionlessness, he still had a attractive charm.
Though his face was serious he was incredibly attractive, the frown on his face only made him more of a god then he had already been.
Lan QiRen, though he wasn't attractive still had attractive relatives and family, Wei Wuxian thought to himself.
Wei Wuxian looked down, possibly out of shame, or embarrassment.
He had realized he was staring for very long, letting himself engulf in the art that was before him.
Blush creeped onto his cheeks.
Lan QiRen scoffed, "Well what are you two waiting for? Get to you're seats!!" He yelled.
Wei Wuxian flinched before looking at Jiang Cheng, who had also seemed to be hypnotized by the boys beauty that he had only come back to earth just the same time he did.
Jiang Cheng bowed one last time before grabbing Wei Wuxian's hand and rushing over to their seats in the back.
He slapped Wei Wuxian down into his seat before sitting down on his own, looking down at his legs.
Wei Wuxian caught on, knowing what Jiang Cheng was feeling.
He whispered, "Is it just me or is it really hot in here?"
Jiang Cheng looked up at him and rolled his eyes.
"Wei Wuxian. Wei Wuxian." He shook his head in disappointment.
"What? It's true. I'm sweating, from to toe."
Jiang Cheng looks at him with an annoyed expression.
Wei Wuxian smiles at him teasingly before hitting his shoulder.
Jiang Cheng groans silently, "What was that for?!" He whisper-yelled.
Wei Wuxian smiled teasingly, "You're cheeks are so red, you're a tomato.. wait!" He looked at his brother surprised.
Jiang Cheng knew exactly what he was thinking, and he knew he needed to shut down that thought as soon as possible.
"No no! Don't you dare you brat!—" He whispered.
Wei Wuxian giggled silently, putting a arm over Jiang Cheng's shoulder, "You like someone!" He says.
Jiang Cheng feels his worse nightmare come to life as he sees Wei Wuxian smirking at the new guys.
"I didn't know you were a cut-sleeve." Wei Wuxian said.
Jiang Cheng gasped, hitting Wei Wuxian's ark off his shoulder, "Nonsense!! I would never dare to be a cut sleeve! Do you want me to dig my own grave?!" He said, this time his voice higher then the previous whispers.
The whole classes turned around to look at Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng, including QiRen and his nephews who had been sat at the front.
Jiang Cheng felt the air escape his lungs, leaving him breathless.
He sat there, like a limb dead body as Wei Wuxian sat there with a smile on his face, inviting the class to join the conversation.
QiRen sent them both a frown, "Is there something you need to say to the class Mr Jiang?"
Jiang Cheng sat there silently, just staring back at the old men with no words.
Wei Wuxian giggled, "Sorry, our conversation was too loud, we didn't mean to interrupt your lesson, please, continue." He said.
QiRen seemed like he wanted to say something but held himself back from doing so.
He turned back to his board, students still stared.
He spoke up, "Turn your heads around! There is nothing interesting or important back there."
Wei Wuxian was about to speak up until Jiang Cheng put a hand over his mouth, looking at him threateningly.
"Don't say a word." He said.
Wei Wuxian chuckled, moving his hand away.
"Fine, fine. Whatever you say Mr Jiang." He said.
Jiang Cheng turned red, hitting his shoulder.
"Shut it!" He said, no longer looking at Wei Wuxian.
Wei Wuxian tapped on his shoulder, but he no longer answered, he tried talking to him but there was no response.
Wei Wuxian sighed, seeing as his fun was gone he had no choice but to pay attention to the lesson.
