Blue POV
I sat in front of Eric, the fate of our marriage in his hands. Sit was Wednesday afternoon after my last class of the day.
I got my papers back two days ago and I was clean.
Of everything, except I was coming down with a cold but that's as about it. I didn't even have an STI, I was given a perfect bill of health.
He hands my the letter and stares at me. It was unopened.
I'm guessing he wanted me to read it.
" Before you open it, I just want to say that I really am sorry Blue, I never meant to do you wrong" he says.
I didn't look at him. If I did I would be weak for him like I always am, and before I give in to home like I really want to, I need to know his results first.
" regardless of what the results say, I love you Blue"
" I love you too" he was already pulling me in and I haven't seen his results yet.
Using these words I tear the envelope open and pull his papers out.
Nodding at what I read, he was clean.
He didn't have anything.
Yesterday he also revealed to me that the one he slipped up without a condom with, wasn't pregnant and he made sure of it, going to the doctor with her.
I have been gone for a three weeks so we would be able to know by now if she was.
Handing him the envelope back he looks over it and nods.
" I don't know what to say" I tell him truthfully.
" can you at least say you'll come home" I shake my head. Classes started the same day I got my results back.
" I think it's best I stay where I'm at, especially since classes have started for us" he nodded.
" can you at least tell me where you're staying? I would like to know that your safe" he asked
I bit my lips before switching my body weight to the other foot.
" campus apartment" I say and he nodded.
" do you need anything?"
I thought about it. " don't let it happen again" i tell him.
" of course, I swear to you Blue" I eye him.
I still have no clue how to read him. What was he thinking, at any point in all of this?
What has he been doing since we haven't been talking?
Has he been talking to them since I left?
" I know what your thinking Blue" he says. Our eyes meet before he pulls out his phone.
I watched him unlock it, his password was my birthday and the day we got married.
I watched as he passed to to me, unlocked, no words exchanged.
Don't go looking, you're gonna find exactly what you're looking for.
I pass him the phone back and shake my head.
" I want to believe you without invading your privacy" he looks at the phone tapping it in his hands a few times, he puts it back in his pocket before looking at me.
I was in the house with him, the kitchen area to be exact, the island separating us.
" you still wearing your ring" he notes.
I paused looking down at it. " yeah uh I, I never took it off" I say as he eyes it.
" you have yours on when did that start" I pointed out.
" yeah uh, the morning I found out you were gone I put it on, a little late but I plan to make a real effort B, if you could just please come back" he says.
I thought about it, I did miss him a lot.
" my last class is Friday evening, I'll come spend the night with you until my class Tuesday, don't try anything funny, I'm still very pissed at you Eric" I say pointing my finger at him and raising my voice.
" Queen treatment only" he assures me.
" I'm serious though Eric, that really hurts, I trusted you and you had not one but three affairs!" He nodded stretching his arms across the counter.
" I ended it, Blue I swear to you I don't want nobody else but you, and if you let me I can prove to you how you changing me for good, for the better B" he says.
I wanted to believe him so bad, I really did. So I will.
" what are we doing today?" He paused and smiles before nodding.
" whatever you want to do, want to get your nails done, you got it, want a new fit just because, it's yours, wanna do something different with your hair? To the salon we go, whatever you want" he says.
It sounded too good to be true . I wanted to test to see if he'd really do anything for me.
" don't you have work to do today?" I challenged him.
" does that matter when I'm trying to fix things with my wife?" His challenge back was quick.
" I don't want to be the reason you lose out on money" I challenge him again.
" even if I do lose money B I make it back triple the next day, I run a tight ship" he held a smirk on his face.
" your boys told me you had a busy day today" I continue seeing if he'd really drop everything for me.
" I trust Bosely and then to get it done in my place" he says.
" really important meeting" I egg on.
" even more important marriage get in the car" he says grabbing the keys off the counter.
I was shocked, he really was going to miss out on the rest of his day to be with me.
He seemed so unfazed by it.
Like he really wanted to be with me and nothing was going to stop him.
I decided that I wanted to be with him too by following him.
