Usually, Indy would refuse to go with Wes on his runs. After a while she realized she needed to clear her head after getting suspected. Playing soft ball always helped her, so she assumed that going on a run with Wes would help just as much.
So, she decided she would go with him, although the run didn't last long. Their mother had told them not to stay out too long. Especially, with everything going on. Not only is Indy worried but so is their mother.
Wes and Indy made their way inside, accidentally leaving the door open. When Indy remembered leaving the door open, she went to close it when her face was only inches away from a knife. She let out a scream not knowing who it was yet, but as Wes ran into the hallway, she looked up. She noticed it was just their mom.
"Jesus, you scared me." Wes sighed as he looked at his shaken-up sister.
"I scared you? I almost ran into a knife. Two more inches and I would have to start wearing eye patches. I don’t want to look like a fucking pirate!" Indy scoffed as her mother put the knife down.
Indy started to walk out of the small hallway. Along with Wes. Indy placed her pocketknife and pepper spray in a bowl near the front door.
"Are you guys being safe out there?" Their mother asked as Wes pulled out a taser and pepper spray, showing it to their mother before putting it in the bowl along with all of Indy’s self-defense weapons.
"To the point that all my friends mock me, yes." Wes explained.
"Good boy." Their mother said as Indy eyed her brother confused and in slight discomfort.
"What's for dinner?" Indy asked as she started making her way towards the stairs.
"Sushi, I was just leaving to pick it up." Their mother answered, grabbing her purse as Wes walked towards her.
"Why don't you just Postmates it?" Wes asked as Indy glared at the back of his head.
"It gets all mushy by the time it's here. And you know your sister, doesn't trust anyone now days." Their mother said pointing toward Indy who wore a bright smile, "Why don't you guys get cleaned up. I'll be back soon."
Indy bolted up the stairs, but slowed down as she started walking to her room. As soon as she got there, she placed her phone down on her dresser as she grabbed a pair of mom jeans and a crop top. She started the water in her private bedroom, as she heard another shower starting.
Indy danced to music in her head, as her lips sang non-existent lyrics. The warm water slowly becoming cold, sense Wes was taking a shower down the hall.
Once all the soap was rinsed from Indy's hair, she stepped out of the shower. Wrapping a towel around her body as she used the blow dryer to dry her hair.
The sound of running water coming from down the hall continued. Along with the sound of a car pulling up in front of the house.
Indy quickly changed, pulling her hair into a French braid as she made her way out of the shower. Once she made it into her room, she noticed she had three missed calls from her mom.
When she tried to call her mom back, there was no answer. Indy shrugged her shoulders assuming her mom butt dialed her, and she went down the stairs, leaving her phone in her room.
Wes came down the stairs not too much later. He started to set plates on the counter while Indy grabbed sauce and chopsticks from the pantry.
She placed them down next to the plates before looking at her brother, "I'll be back in a second, I left my phone upstairs."
Indy ran up the stairs, and towards her room, not noticing that her bedroom door was already open. As she entered her bedroom, she reached out grabbing her phone when a figure jumped out of the closet.
She let out a scream before she ran down the stairs screaming for her brother, "WES!"
Wes heard the sound, and he turned around from locking the front door. As he turned around, he came face to face with someone in a Ghostface mask chasing his sister down the stairs. Tears ran down her cheeks as she tried to grab her pocketknife but was slammed into the floor and stabbed in the side.
Wes quickly got in front of his sister as she sat up. Indy attempted catching her breath and reaching for her baseball bat that was next to all her other softball stuff.
Wes was holding a knife away from his throat, but when Indy got off the floor; she turned around to see the knife in Wes's throat. She let out a chocked sob as the killer started walking towards her, whipping the blood away. The red stained his cloak as he held out a somewhat clean knife.
Indy swung the bat, sending the killer into the wall. She made a run jumping over the killer and ignoring the pain as she grabbed her pocketknife. She opened it quickly throwing it, as the killer got up.
The killer groaned holding their leg. As they fell to the floor. Indy grabbed her pepper spray, trying to spray the killer. When she remembered that the killer had a mask.
She was about to swing her bat again when the killer opened the door and fled. Indy followed him out the door to see her mom's dead body on the ground. She let out another sob as she fell to her knees.
A little after what happened police officers and reporters had shown up. Indy refused to let go of her brother's body. As she stared at her mother, knowing now that she was the last Hicks standing.
Sam showed up at the scene and noticed Indy covered in blood. She was sitting on the grass as she watched the police officers cover the two bodies.
She looked up to see Sam. Sam was standing on the other side of the yellow tape talking with Gale Weathers.
"SAM!" Indy shouted as she got up from where she was standing, running towards Sam.
Sam turned around and became shocked when Indy wrapped her in a hug. Indy continued to cry as Sam wrapped her arms around her tightly.
"They murdered Wes, in front of me. It should've been me." Indy cried as her knees buckled and she fell to the ground in tears.
Sam quickly followed her to the ground. She held Indy tightly as she rocked them back and forth, trying to calm her down when she got more worried about Tara. Indy was getting the same feeling.
"T-t-Tara...we need to get to Tara." Indy said as she tried to stand up, but she couldn't, she fell right back down.
