"Malfoy! It's a duel not a fighting competition!" Hermione cried, as Flitwick jumped in.

"Indeed Mr. Malfoy, detention for the rest of the week." the Professor sighed, mumbling something about losing some bet. As Flitwick dismissed the class, Hermione, Pansy and Blaise came to Y/N hoping to wake her up. But when they were met with no response, they carried her to the Hospital Wing.

Draco stayed back, and he was frozen at the spot. He was too harsh on you. If you wrote to your parents, he would get in huge trouble. He felt guilty, not because he cared, but because he didn't want to get in trouble with his mother. He sighed, ran his hands and fingers through his hair and walked out. He saw your wand on the other side, and before he left the classroom, he walked towards it to pick it up for you.

He walked to his dorm to avoid the whole situation, and didn't even bother showing up to detention that day. He wanted to avoid you, so that he could hang out with his girl friend Astoria Greengrass. His parents didn't really approve of her for some reason, but that never stopped him.

"Dray!" Astoria ran to hug him. She had been waiting for him in his dorm room. She didn't have classes that day for some reason. Astoria was the younger sister of Daphne Greengrass, a fellow Slytherin in Draco's year.

"Hi love," he smiled at her, kissing her head.

"How are you?"

"I'm good, just been bored waiting for you to get out of class." Astoria smiled, "How was class?" Draco laughed, letting go of her.

"It was funny, we had a duel session in charms today. I was partnered with Y/L/N and sent her to the Hospital Wing. She was so weak." Astoria laughed.

"Good job, Draco. You put her in her place, that's for sure. Filthy blood traitor " She gave him a high-five. She stopped for a moment, looking like she was thinking about something.

"What is it?" he asked, worriedly.

"Did you get in trouble for it? Or did the dwarf let you off?" Draco groaned at her question.

"I got detention, but why does it matter?"

"I have a proposition for you, Draco." his ears perked up at this. He cocked an eyebrow, questioning her. She continued, "Make her fall in love with you."

"Why should I make her fall in love with me?"

"Make her fall in love with you, and you've got yourself a date." Draco blushed. He had liked Astoria for quite a while, and she knew that. But she always said that they were just best friends; nothing more. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for him--a chance for him to get the girl he liked.

"You've got yourself a deal, Greengrass."

"You've one month, Draco." Astoria winked at him as he walked out of his dorm. This wasn't going to be easy, but the things we want can't always be easily achieved. He gathered his thoughts, and walked to detention. If he wanted you to fall for him, might as well make you think he felt sorry.

You had woken up, looking around the room. The Hospital Wing? Who carried you there? As you sat up, you felt something on your hand. Someone was on the chair, right next to your cot, and sleeping soundly.

"Draco?" your voice croaked. He slowly opened his eyes and blinked a couple times. He looked at you worriedly.

"Are you alright?" he asked, "I knocked you conscious during our duel. I'm so sorry Y/n/n." your heart pulsed quickly. He never called you that-- well he used to but that was back when you two were friends. You sighed looking down, trying to hide the blush that was creeping its way onto your cheeks.

    "It's alright."

"No, it's not Y/N," he took your hand into his, holding it firmly. "I hurt you, and I want to make it up to you." you blushed, but thankfully he couldn't see it.

"If you carried me here, And I'm sure Professor Flitwick didn't leave you easily. You probably got detention, and that's more than enough. You don't have to do anything else to make it up, Draco."

"It wasn't me who brought you here. It was Pansy, Blaise and Granger." He didn't call her a mudblood? That's a surprise.

"Oh, well then, did you get detention?"

    "Yeah."

"Well, that's fine then. You already made it up."

"Yeah, I made it up to Flitwick, but I didn't make it up to you." I blushed-- I forgot how sweet he could be.

"Uhm, It's alright Draco, really." I forced a smile, as his lips turned into a frown, he sighed.

"Y/N, let's be friends." I cocked my eyebrow.
"Friends again," he corrected, smiling brightly at me. I felt blood rush to my cheeks, I was about to agree but I felt something tugging at my heart.

"I promise I'll treat you better," he abruptly jumped in, as if he felt my hesitation. Once again, I was about to say yes, until I felt something off. I looked into his eyes, searching for a sign where he could be lying. Finding nothing, I reluctantly nodded. At this, he hugged me tight and kissed my head. That's normal, right? He did this all the time when we were younger.

At that moment, Madame Pomfrey came in to usher Draco out of the room. Visiting hours were over. She also told him I'd be out by tomorrow afternoon if I felt better. He looked like he didn't want to leave, but I smiled gently, to comfort him in some way.

DRACO's POV
This was all for the bet. All for Astoria, but why did I feel so guilty? That smile she gave me before I left made me feel all gushy. I just needed rest, it'd been a long day. I came back to my dorm, only to see Astoria, laying on my bed once more. Once she heard the door open, she looked up and smirked. I nodded in acknowledgement. She went up to me and brushed her fingers through my chest flirtatiously. I shivered at her touch, as I felt blood rush to my nether regions. I pushed her out of the room. I knew that if I wanted to win, I'd have to get rid of distractions, and any kind of situation where Y/N could potentially figure out this was a bet.

She pouted when I pushed her out. Just once, Y/N won't find out. I pulled her chin up towards me as I kissed her forehead. "Sorry love." she smiled at me, nodded and walked off to her dorm. As I was left alone in my room, my thoughts wandered towards Y/N. I tried to stop it, but this would happen every once in a while. As I drifted off to sleep, the only thing that remained on my mind was her smile.
