A/N: i apologize for posting this so late- i had AP testing and i had a bit of a writer's block. but here you go!

You were going to get married to the love of your life. He was your best friend and someone you could always confide in.

Looking in the mirror, you smiled at yourself. The wedding dress was a modern, princess-style dress, it was lacy, with off shoulder sleeves. The train was long enough to trail behind you, but not long enough to hold you back. Your flower bouquet consisted of roses, enchanted to the colour of dark green to represent your house colours. Your hair was twisted into an updo, while your face had light makeup, making your skin glow.

Today was your day, you told yourself. It was supposed to be the happiest day of your life, but why did it feel so wrong?

"Darling, are you ready?" your mother knocked the door, interrupting you from your thoughts.

"Yes, come on in." you replied dusting off your dress to look a bit more presentable. You looked to the door as your mother opened it and she gasped.

"You look gorgeous!" she squealed, running to give you a hug. You hugged her back, feeling your eyes well up in tears.

"Oh, darling... it'll be alright, I promise." she reassured you, releasing you from the hug. "Now no crying. We don't want to ruin your mascara, now do we?" you shook your head.

"Your father is waiting outside for you, now let me walk you out." you walked out with your mother, hand in hand, ready to meet your father at the bottom of the altar.

Your father was pacing around, but once he turned around and saw you, his eyes softened.

"You look amazing, sweetheart." your father walked up to hug you. Your mother released her grasp from your hand and handed you off to your father.

"It'll be alright, I promise. Your mother and I went through the same thing, and look at where we ended off." he whispered. You took your places before the doors, and as the door closed, the wedding march processed.

"Don't let me fall, dad." you muttered.

"Never." he reassured you, squeezing your hand.

As you continued to walk down the altar, people were smiling. Your friends from Hogwarts, the Golden trio, your family members from far and wide, friends from the States, and people you've never met before. You silently thanked them for coming, as you came closer to the altar, your eyes met with his. He wore an all-black tuxedo, made for the wedding. He looked astonished, his eyes looked like he was ready to cry, but you knew he was trying to hold it in infront of everyone.

As he met you on the steps of the altar, your father gave you a hug and handed you to your fiance. You walked up together onto the altar, ready to make your vows. You had written vows but you knew he didn't.

"Do you, Y/N Travers, take Draco Malfoy to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

    "I do."

"Do you, Draco Malfoy, take Y/N Travers to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

"I..." he closed his eyes, hesitating, "I do." your heart broke as he hesitated. What did you expect? You knew he didn't want you that way and it was only one sided. Your parents had known about how much you loved him, Narcissa knew, but he didn't. His father only saw it as a way to tie two pureblood families together. He loved someone he couldn't be with, and that hurt you more than anything.

"I now pronounce you, husband and wife! You may kiss the bride." he pulled you in, kissing the corner of your mouth. Only to make it look like you both were really kissing, as you walked down the altar, you forced a smile. This was supposed to be the happiest day of your life, but you only saw it as the beginning of a heartbreak.

Once you walked into the reception, he eventually let go of your hand to talk to his friends. You sat at your seat, trying to make the best of the situation. In the corner of your eye, you could see him with her. He was smiling, laughing without a care in the world. He was in love with her, but couldn't be with her because she was a muggle-born and a Gryffindor. She was best friends with his enemy, and the key to his heart. You tried to ignore the sinking feeling in your stomach as he continued to talk with her throughout the night. Your parents and Narcissa sent you reassuring looks, trying to comfort you. You shook your head, knowing that this would happen. As the party ended, you noticed that his mood became more and more gloomy.

As you both drove to Malfoy Manor, recommended by your parents, silence filled the air. You didn't try to talk to him, you knew that he was in a desolate mood. As you arrived, he left your things in the car for you to carry them yourself. With a heavy heart, you used your wand to levitate your items behind you as you walked into the Manor.

You knew Draco would most likely be in his room so you decided to change out of your wedding dress, and into your nightgown. The dress fell and revealed your white-laced lingerie. It hugged your curves perfectly but you couldn't stand it. You were about to take it off until the door bursted open. Your 'husband' was at the door, staring at you agape.

"You really think I would want to sleep with you?" he sneered, looking at your figure. "You know how I feel about Hermione and this pathetic arranged marriage bt you still want to try?"

You stayed silent, knowing nothing you could say could make him less angrier. He slammed the door shut, and you slumped down against the bathroom wall. You didn't want to sleep with him at all. You loved him, but he didn't love you. And you didn't want to sleep with a man who would have meaningless sex with you.

Allowing yourself to cry all the frustration today had to offer, you eventually grew tired. You quickly changed out of your lingerie and into your nightgown. You crawled next to Draco's sleeping figure and tried your best to sleep. After a couple hours, nothing worked so you went out into the garden, gazing at the stars. Something about the starry night sky calmed you, and you stayed out until morning. When you heard Draco close the door for work, you went into his room and allowed yourself to sleep throughout the day. You woke up three hours before he got home, and decided to make him dinner.

The Malfoys still had house elves around, but you wanted to personally make him something. You loved cooking for people; it was fun and it brought you joy, especially when their eyes would light up when they saw it, or ate it.

After you finished cooking two hours later, you made two bowls. You gave some to the houselves, since you made a whole pot of soup, and they happily thanked you. You waited for him to come home, but once he did, he only glanced and muttered, "not hungry, already ate with Hermione." he closed his bedroom door and you only sighed. You ate your soup in silence and saved his bowl in the fridge in case he got hungry during the night. After you cleaned up, you went into the Manor's library, reading a couple of the books. While reading a muggle book, your vision blurred, and your eyes felt heavier, and heavier. Until they eventually shut.
