Epilogue

July 21st

"So, you packed everything", F/n asks as she watches Y/n tape up her last moving box. "Yup, all done."
"I can't believe you're actually doing this." Y/n smiles at her friend.
"It was a hard decision, F/n. Are you angry?"
F/n shakes her head.
"I thought I would be but in the end I want you to be happy." They close the gap between each other for one last hug.
"I'm gong to miss you", F/n sighs as she holds her friend close.

"You don't have to. Nico build a device that allows me to travel between our universes. Whenever you need me I'll be there."
They break the hug. "Promise", F/n asks as tears start to build up in her eyes. "Promise."

Suddenly the door to the dorm opens.
"Hey, all done", Nero asks. "All done."
All three of them pick up what they can carry.
"So that means I can visit you too?"
"Any time you want, just text me." F/n grins at Y/n. "Bet."

As they reach the outside Nero pulls something out of his pocket. It's the device Nico built. "All clear?" They look around making sure no one sees them. "All clear."

With a push of a button Nero activates the device and opens a rear in the scenery in front of them. A portal opens to Y/n's future home.
"So, F/n. This is goodbye, for now", Nero says as he wraps his arm around Y/n's waist.
"For now. Oh, don't hurt her or I'll gut you like a fish." Y/n and F/n break out laughing while Nero only chuckles entrusting F/n to keep her promise. "And good luck", F/n adds as she winks at Nero.

"Friday free margaritas at golden hour." Y/n's eyes widen. "Where?"
"Come here and I'll show you." Y/n hugs F/n again. "It's a date."
With one last smile towards F/n Nero and Y/n enter the portal only to exit in the all too familiar garage of Nero's and Nico's home.

"What did she mean by good luck", Y/n asks Nero. "Oh, nothing." Y/n raises an eyebrow clearly suspicious of her boyfriend's behavior.
"Okay, what did you do?"
"Nothing, I swear!"
Y/n laughs. "All right."
She carefully takes his hand, the hand that regenerated when Nero unlocked his Devil Trigger.
"I believe you." She gently kisses his cheek.

As she wants to go inside the house Nero calls out to her. "Y/n, wait." She turns around.
"There is something I wanted to ask you."
Y/n tilts her head in confusion. "What is it?" He gestures her to come back to his side.

"When I saw you for the first time you were just a dream and suddenly you stood there right in front of me", He starts. "What are you saying?"
"I didn't realize how lucky I was until I lost you. You were the reason I kept going, you were there to reassure me when I doubted myself."

Suddenly he goes down on one knee.
"My beautiful, beautiful Y/n. Will you marry me?"

Y/n's eyes widen as Nero holds his hand out to her. "Uh", She stutters completely thrown off guard by this whole situation, by Nero's hopeful eyes and smile.
"Yes." She places her hand into his. "Really", He asks excitedly. "Yes, Nero. I'd love to marry you."

He jumps up from the ground, grabbing Y/n by the waist to twirl her around.

As he places her back onto the ground he can't stop smiling.
"You are the best thing that ever happened to me. I love you. I'd die for you."
"I like you alive, Nero."
"So... I won't die for you?"
"Better."
