The Desert Level

Ajagara: We are at level 20 again. There are no monsters here since I defeated them all. All the time I spent in this level just to get stronger. The boss that spawns here also became a cake walk. Hey Lyra do you want to fight to test our power?

Lyra: I rather not exhaust myself right now since we are going into a level we both have never been before.

Ajagara: Oh shucks! I was really looking forward to showing you my skills.

Lyra: I saw your skills with the frost dragon and I don't want to get hit with that lightning attack of yours.

Ajagara: Haha! So you already know my might. Now let us go past the door to level 21. Open sesame!

Lyra: Oh wow a giant desert. There is no water in sight. I see a lot of things in the distant. Good thing we have supplies and my water magic to boot as well.

Ajagara: Makes sense the monsters in this level are not hiding. The deeper we go into the Sacred Labyrinth the stronger the monsters. Skeleton soldiers are quickly approaching. Lyra throw some water shots at them with their magic. I will deal with the ones that break through.

Lyra: Alright here goes. Water bullets!

Ajagara: As I thought some broke through. These are some tough skeletons. Have a taste of my lightning special. Nunchucks of fury. Heeah! Atatatata! Now that is what I call a massacre.

Lyra: Wait some of them are getting up again. This is such a pain. Let me enhance my water magic even more. That should teach these skeleton a lesson.

Ajagara: Watch out Lyra!

Ajagara pushed Lyra out of the way as a giant scorpion popped out of the sand. The scorpion was 15 feet tall. It is orange in color and its stinger is no joke.

Ajagara: Watch it you dumb scorpion! You're not even the boss of this level and you are already trying to injure my friend.

Lyra: You damned scorpion! How dare you try to sting me. Lyra punch!

Ajagara: Woah look at you go! Your personality is all different. It is fiery. I like it. Your hair color even changed to black. What is that about.

Lyra: Yeah sometimes when I am unconscious I have another personality come out. You can call this personality Lyra Black.

Ajagara: That is so awesome! Let us continue fighting these monsters Lyra Black!

Lyra: You got it. On ward we go.

Ajagara and Lyra continued taking down the skeleton knights and many scorpions until they reached the end of the level 21 where they met the boss guardian the door. The boss came out of a golden coffin with a golden staff in his right hand. It was a mummified pharaoh.

Ramesses: Who dares disturbs my slumber?! I am the pharaoh Ramesses and guardian of this domain. You will have to defeat me to get past. I doubt you women have what it takes to take me on.

Lyra: Oh great a sexist mumy. Here eat some of my water shots!

Ramesses: You have to do better than that. My magic knows no bounds. Your puny magic cannot get past my shield. Now feel my wrath. Flames of Ra!

Ajagara: Now this is what I'm talking about. Another great challenge. Haven't felt this pump since the frost dragon. Some of the flames even got past my shield and burnt me. Hey mummy can you keep up with my speed. Here goes nothing. Acceleration max thunder dragon's barrage.

Ramesses: Impressive. You engulfed yourself with lightning magic and broke through my shield like it was nothing. But did you really think that would be enough to take me down. Now behold my ultimate form!

Lyra: He has the head of a jackal now.

Ramesses: Feel the power of the god of death now. Darkness magic. Never ending night! In this dark world the creatures of the dark come out and kill all of my enemies. Go now kill them shadow monsters.

Shadow wolves, tigers, lions, and many other shadow looking animals all pounced on Ajagara and Lyra. Lyra Black has shadow magic in that form as well and created a giant Shadow Dragon that has black flames and causes instant death if they hit anything. The Shadow Dragon destroyed all the shadows Ramesses sent and also Ramesses himself.

Ramesses: To be defeated by a woman of all things. Maybe I was wrong to underestimate you too.

As Ramesses disappear his golden staff fell to the floor. It is an item called the staff of Ramesses. When a mage uses it increases their magic power by 5% and if they use any type of dark magic the power is amplified by 10%. It is a rare item that has a 0.01% drop rate so it is very valuable when obtained.

Ajagara: Look at you go Lyra. Girl power! I'm I right. Now that is what I'm talking about. Hey you want the golden staff? Oops I guess you used too much mana. Here is a potion for you. Your hair is turning blue again.

Lyra: Ouch my body hurts. What happened? Did we defeat the boss?

Ajagara: You mean you don't remember turning into the Lyra Black.

Lyra: Lyra Black? Sometimes I worry about you Ajagara. Let us go on now. I have sand everywhere. It is annoying me.

Ajagara: On to level 22 we go. This is exciting. These are all new levels I am going to for the first time. I heard rumors a couple more levels down one of the bosses is a dragon. I heard it is so strong that it has been some time since it got defeated and respawned. Well your regular adventures don't even make it this low. Normally to survive in these levels you have to be Rank B and higher. I wonder if Nathan and Garrison will be alright. Knowing those two it should be fine. Their level of growth is amazing.

Since Nathan got reincarnated into this world two months have past so far in real time outside of the labyrinth. Nathan is 14 years old, Garrison is 15 years old, Ajagara is 17 years old, and Lyra is 24 years old. Since Lyra is from the Oni race it will take a few more decades before she looks that age. She looks like she is 14 years old. The characters heights are as followed: Nathan 5'4, Garrison 5'6, Ajagara 6'0, and Lyra 5'2. As mentioned before Lyra is several times stronger than a regular human and was able to defeat a scorpion monster with one punch. Her magic is impressive as well as she wields two different types of magic. Shadow magic when her other persona Lyra Black awakens and water magic normally. Lyra Black was created because Lyra was lonely growing up as her parents were always working. She lived in a small town where the majority of the citizens were adults. The small percentage of children picked on Lyra because of her little horn and they called her names like monster. Humans and demi-humans live together in this world but discrimination still happens. The hair color change that occurs to Lyra is entirely unique to her. There is no clear explanation on why it happens. The full transformation didn't happen until she started adventuring at the age of 14. There were many times she pushed herself too hard in the labyrinth and almost died, but before those moments she would unconsciously transform and defeat the monsters. When Lyra became an adventurer she was part of a party but they all died in the labyrinth when they were reaching level 20 except for Lyra. One of the bosses of the level was too much for them to defeat and they couldn't escape in time to the previous level. After that happened Lyra became a solo adventurer until she met Nathan years later and decided to take on his offer to help because she knew that she would be a fool taking on the frost dragon alone as she initially was going to do. After the defeat of the frost dragon she decided to join with Nathan because she saw how charismatic he was during the battle with the frost dragon. Nathan's personality is that of a strategist but also goofy when he hangs out with Garrison. Garrison would be a class clown if he was back in Nathan's world. Ajagara loves to fight and is a tom boy. Lyra is quiet and reserved while her alter personality is more like Ajagara, fiery and loud. Lyra being with Ajagara was making their bond grow closer as friends just like Nathan and Garrison. Now let us see how Nathan and Garrison are faring.
