Me and Xavier had been friends for a few months now, ever since the start of the new school year at Nevermore. Lately, he had told me about his ex girlfriend, Bianca, being totally obsessed with him.
When I say obsessed, I mean she's been non stop talking to him, making fake accounts on social media to talk to him, following him wherever he goes etc. It's getting super weird for not only him but me since we spend so much time together and it's starting to interfere with our friendship.
Me and Xavier sat at one of the benches in the yard eating our lunch, as we usually do. We're chatting and laughing when all of a sudden Xavier mentions a plan of his.
'Soooo....I've been thinking of ways to get Bianca to leave me alone for once, and when I say this you're gonna think I'm totally delusional but I don't know I think it could work' he explains. 'Right..okayyy well tell me anyways and I'll give you my honest opinion' I say, curious.
'Well, I was thinking me and you could pretend to date. Like we'd act like a couple around everyone, but actually just be friends. That way, Bianca will hopefully take the hint and leave me alone for once. Thoughts?' he asks. Wow. I mean it's kinda a crazy idea, but it could actually work. 'Actually, it's not that bad. You really think that could work?' I reply.
'Well not for definite, but hopefully' he says.
We agree on a plan for this, and start to figure out how we're gonna make it work. We decide that when we're alone, we're just friends, nothing more, but to everyone else we were a couple. We also thought it'd be a good idea to share some stuff on social media eventually to make it seem realistic.
~ 2 weeks later ~
Me and Xavier had been fake dating for a few weeks now. We'd been walking around school holding hands, going on 'dates', you know all that couple stuff. And it seemed to be working. Bianca had left us alone most of the time now, hopefully she took the hint. I was still confused on what we were going to do when we 'broke up' though.
Tonight I was going to share a photo of me and Xavier on my instagram like he suggested.

I posted it, and hoped that Bianca would see this and finally take that as him being completely out of her life. I put my phone down for a while to do my homework.
Ding! My phone notification goes off, and so I check my phone to see an instagram message from none other than Bianca.
Bianca:
'Listen up, Xavier's mine. He doesn't fucking like you and never will, get over it. Maybe if you lost some weight he would really love you. Fat bitch.'

I stared at my phone in shock, tears welling in my eyes. I don't even reply to the message, I just turn my phone off and walk over to my mirror. Tears pouring down my face, mascara smudged down under my eyes.
'Maybe if you lost some weight, he'd like you'.
The words repeated in my head over and over again. I examine myself in the mirror, focusing on my stomach. She was right. There was no doubt about that.
Ever since me and Xavier started this whole fake couple thing I'd been catching feelings, there's no denying it. But I know he doesn't feel the same about me. Why would he ever? I'm fat, Bianca said it herself. Fuck this.
