Ch23

The next day Y/N woken up beside Ghost. She looked at him as he slept almost peacefully. Y/n smiled as she then felt the morning breeze hit her forgotten exposed body, she looked down before covering up when realizations hit her like a bus.

This is the second time she slept with her work partner, her Lieutenant. Y/n looked shamefaced for her behavior.
She carefully slipped out of bed and stared to put back on her clothing only this time stealing a shirt from Simon stash.

Ghost had woken up from the noises and reached his arm out to the spot next to he for he remembered being with y/n last night but when he felt around for her all he gotten was emptiness. He sat up with a quizzical look and stretched the sleep away.

He looked around until he saw her in the corner. "Morning." He croaked and his eyes switched into an alluring way. Y/n stopped and faced the man. "Food morning Simon." She weakly smiled at him.

The girl tied her hair up before noticing Ghost now getting up and putting light clothing on. Y/n swallowed her saliva as  she needed to know if Ghost really said all that about him liking her in a way or if he's just using her because now it looks very wrong that she keeps sleeping with him.

Ghost had noticed her lack of verbals or movements coming from the girl, he needed to know what's up.

"Hey L/N? Are you alright?" He asked as he now approached her. Y/n quickly nods as she glanced up at him.

"I'm alright, but we need to talk." She pushed her words out, Ghost understands as he leads them back towards his bed.

"Okay what's up? Was it something I said or do last night?" He questioned as the girl lightly shakes her head.

"No nothing about that... well it kinda is, this is about us." She spoken with brooding over her face. Ghost just looked at the flooring as he sighed quietly. "What about it?" He finally asked while not looking at her. "Look, I really need to know what you see in me?" She threw at him.

Ghost took a minute to come up with a response and sucked in air. "I... I see someone I can count on, a girl who can out live anyone when doing her job as a protector. A funny self observant girl that is liked by many." Ghost said just thinking of what to actually say about her.

Y/n frowned as she listens to him speak. "Okay now what do you see yourself?" She ask but that question kinda hit him there as he doesn't know what this his about. He just shrugs. "I don't know, what do you see me?" He reversed the question back.

Y/n didn't answer as she already knew the answers.

"Why are you asking these?" He questioned as he leaned on his hands. "I'm asking because I want to know if you see something between us." She mentioned while her eyes scanned his face. Ghost just frowns his eyebrows then thought about it.

"Don't you think it's strange how we hooked up two time now... even if we work for each other." She then tossed around the words as it hit him in the face. "Ive noticed." He spoken but not in a way she wanted him to hear him say.

"Y/N i know where this is going, and all I can say is those night are not done by mistakes. I really wanted that, wanted you." He blurted out as he then eyed his decorations of his room.

"If so then why do you play with my heart? I've felt like a dirty sin when I can't tell what you want or not." She softly spoken as to not spark any arguments between the two.

Ghost thought about it before sighing that alerts Y/N of his annoyance rising up with in. "I'm a difficult person to under stand. I myself can't find what I want or not, so I'm no help but one thing fore sure I'm not using you in a way that can hurt you. I really can't explain this but it's not in a negative way, trust me." He said as he tried to reach for her touch. Y/N just looked at his hand before remaining still.

"There's something inside me that is telling me to let you in my life, but I realizing how dangerous it can be to do that, and I'm afraid to find out." He spoke up once more but Y/N cuts him off.

"Why are you afraid?" She spoken but Ghost just rubbed his face in frustration. "I don't know, I'm too fucked up to know why, and I blame myself for that." He replied shortly and the girl looked at him with curiosity and he just threw on a nearby sweatshirt.

"Listen I appreciate you finding the time to actually have this conversation but I advise you to just throw those feeling you have for me away before it lets you down. And I'll do the same." He threw his words out in regret but Y/N eyes widen.

"Simon..." she called out but he cuts her off. "No I insist, there so many people you can meet that will be right for you." He flatlined mentions as he moved around her to do what he needed to do.

This talk had now backed fired from the way Y/N thought would go. Y/N stood up and faced him. "What you're saying, is that.. you think I'm not right for you?" She narrowed her eyes. "No, I'm saying that I'm not the right person you would want to be with. We're two different people and I'm just going to keep playing with your strings until it ends you in a place you don't like." He said with no emotion behind his tone.

"Not right for me? Simon I know we're two different people but I really like you for the way that you are-." She mentioned but he spoke over her once more. "Listen to me! I'm just trying to save you from a mistake you're about to step into, if you want to push this now be my guest." He spoken out yet again.

"You need a guy who is stable and knows how to treat you right and I can't give you that if I was never given that in first place." He added now leaving y/n quit. She eyed him as he rants. "I mean it when I say this
Y/N, I want to be the person you want me to be or is suppose to be, but it's hard for me to accept these changes quickly." He said while letting out a trapped breath of air.

"I'm getting that you're afraid of commitment because you're braking away from your stones walls and don't know how to handle this in a way, but look. When I first meet you. You were this very closed off and intimidating guy just doing his job, but over the years of working together, we got closer and closer that I can see how much you changed." She claimed as she reached to grasp his arm. "And I'm doing the same thing because I feel in love with a man who's cares about his friends, who's dedicated their life to work so they can save the world for everyone, is doing his god dame best. Theres nothing I would change about you because I came so far with you at this point of life that I'm not going to suddenly throw it out the window." She said now her eyes holding pain.

"I want to give you that, I hope you deserve more than anything in the world... I want to be with you and I like you a lot I do but how do I do this right?" Ghost tossed his words around, his eyes moving frantically across her face.

Y/n have never seen this new side of him ever, but she was glad that he said that. She just wanted him to know that he's in the right hands and will treat him right if he's ready for something new.

"What do you say, wanna see what's on the other side of that wall or do you want to stay hidden away and cowered in fear?" She asked the man. Ghost picked up his head and thought about it for a second. He may not show it on the outside but inside he was feeling scared to step out further away from his walls. But he did enjoy the peek of it when she started to lead him out.

He nods once before taking her hand. "I guess if you'll help me through it." He mentioned to her. "Of course and you know I love you no matter what." Y/n threw out the L word rather quickly.

Ghost eyeds at her with bugged eyes. "I know." He said before raising her hand to kiss it. Y/n pulled herself to stand. "Come on, let's go hangout with Soap and the rest of the guys." She mentioned now taking his hand and pulled him out his room. No longer wanting to continue this awkward conversation.
