It had been a while after the groups split up into their respective rooms when Masa and Lamar grew bored and annoyed.
"Man why did this have to happen just before we were to infiltrate that tournament?" Lamar bemoaned.
"I'm just as annoyed but honestly that's actually not the first thing i was thinking about right now. i'm more annoyed that we don't know as much about these other people, and the clones of a lot of people we know." Masa admitted.
"You know what you're absolutely right, why does that annoy me more?" Lamar said thinking about it. And before any of them could continue they noticed the sound of footsteps and looked around for a source.
"Ok we know someone is in here with us, it better not be one of those other guys that the other groups hated." Masa said trying to sound intimidating.
"Relax, I'm just trying to get a better look at alternate universe beings without being seen. But I started with the wrong room." A female voice said before revealing the form of Desti.
"Oh well I guess that's better than the other option." Masa said relaxing a bit.
"Hey I was gonna say that." Lamar said teasingly.
"Hey that reminds me, what's your version of Y/N like?" Masa asked.
"Kind cunning slow to anger and highly protective of his loved ones." Desti said.
"That checks out." Lamar said. "So I bet you're wondering about the guy we were talking about.
"Lux?" Desti asked.
"X or cks?" Masa responded in kind.
"X." Desti said. Masa shook his head no.
"L-u-c-k-s, like he's a "lucky" guy." Masa said throwing air quotes up when he said lucky.
"Greedy corporate ceo type?" Desti asked flatly.
"That common for that attitude?" Lamar asked with a sad chuckle.
"Yep. But he doesn't have anything supernatural about him correct?" Desti asked.
"Not that we know of no. So he's probably way too far out of his depths." Masa confirmed.
"Alright so hope your ready for things to get a bit weirder from here on out." Desti said looking them over. "Because corporate overlords and underhanded experimentation is the tamest thing any of us have experienced." She warned.
Both boys looked at eachother and gulped wondering what shenanigans they were willingly throwing themselves into.
They'd have to wait till they met Mario to get even a clue.
