Say what now?

I stared at my best friend in slight shock. Okay i already knew he thinks i am crazy but i did not think it was that bad.

"You're joking." I said and she frowned.

"Take a good look at me Dian, do i look like I'm joking?"

No.

I closed my eyes and sucked in a deep breath. It was worse than I imagined. I could not let this happen. I would not let it happen.

"I'm guessing you don't know every thing then." Faye said this time.

Ming shot Faye a glare and placed a hand on her hip, waiting.

"I'm not crazy." I said "everything that i told you in the plane is real and I'll prove it to you."

I took a step closer to my friend and pulled up my sleeves, showing the both of them the marking behind my wrist.

"What is that?" They both said at the same time.

"Honestly, I don't know."

It was some kind of marking on my wrist, one would mistake it for a tattoo but the thing is i had never gotten ink on my skin before, and this one was different. It was like a crest embedded to my flesh. The first time i had noticed it, it was only a lined mark that looked like an accidental stain. That i had thought i might have accidentally spilled ink on my hand while writing or something. But then after the incident that morning i went to see my ex boyfriend in the hospital room, I discovered that the mark had grown into a full design behind my wrist.

I can't exactly describe the look of it. But it was weird to look at and i know for a fact that it had something to do with this creature inside of me.

"It came out first in small lines from the day I woke up in that hospital. The day it all started. The day I became possessed. And with every victim that it took, the more it spread."

" What do you mean every victim?" Ming asked.

I swallowed and looked into the eyes of my best friend. " I have killed people Ming. I have killed a lot people." The sorrow and guilt was evident in my tone.

" You didn't kill those people Dian. Would you stop it!" Faye said looking really annoyed.

" But it is true!" I yelled right back " it might have not been my intentions Faye but it was my hands! My body! It was my eyes they looked into at their last moment on this Earth!" My voice broke down "it was all me. "

I bit down I on my bottom lip letting the reality sink in on my friend.

Ming was frozen. Her mouth was hanging open and her eyes were glued to my face as she tried to rap her head around the newly found information.

"And...and that man?" She was hesitant to ask, there was a crack in her voice.

"I didn't mean to." Shameful tears poured down my eyes. " I went there to get help because I believed he would be able to help me, but i ended up taking his life for doing so."

I remember how sweetly he had smiled at me while helping me with his mother's recipe dish. Whenever I think about it, a bille rises up my throat and my chest tightens.

Despite the fact that he was not the first person that had lost their life in my hands, his death hurt the most. It probably had to do with the fact that I had a chance to really know him. Maybe not really but the side of the sweet old man that i had met was enough to crush my feelings because of what i had done.

She put her hand over her mouth, sucked in a deep breath and turned away from me.

The room fell silent for a couple of minutes before she finally looked back at me. A different emotion in her eyes.

"Does it hurt?"

"It burns." It burns like a consuming fire. The heat within my insides is like a pumping lava that consumes every part of me. It is like a burning rage of overwhelming heat that no matter how hard I try, I can't get rid of.

"Why didn't you tell me? Where you afraid? That i would hate you? That i would think ill of you?"

" Do you think ill of me?"

She did not say anything, but what she did caught me off guard. Ming is not a violent one, she is as soft and light as a feather, maybe if it were Faye i would not be too surprised, but for Ming to lift up her hand and smack me across the cheek was shocking.

Before I could even react, she pulled me tight into her tear filled embrace.

"I'm afraid!" She said making me chuckle dryly, not a single hint of humor laced with the week laugh that escaped my lips. "I honestly don't know what to think except that i could never think ill about you."

" What are you afraid of?" I asked and she pulled away, looking down at the ground in shame while tucking a fist of her hair behind her ear.

"You." I sucked in a deep breath at her proclamation. "I was so scared Dian! The look on your face when we found you..." Tears flowed down her eyes " you weren't your self." She looked up at me "you aren't your self."

I took a step back and looked from Ming to Faye. "I can't involve anyone in this anymore. Especially not you two."

"That is not your decision to make" Faye said firmly.

" Yes it is." I defied.

"What if I want to be involved?" She said.

" You can't. I don't what to hurt you."

Ming walked closer to me and pulled my hands in hers " you would never hurt us Dee."

"That's what i thought before. And now Damon is lying in a hospital bed." I pulled my hands away from her grip.

They did not say anything for a while but then Faye spoke up again. "I know what you are, we both do and we are going to stay by your side all through and support you till the end and there is nothing that you, or anyone else can say, absolutely nothing that is going to change my mind Dianna. I have made up my mind."

I stared at my best friends teary eyed and speechless. My voice broke "i really don't want to hurt you."

"And you won't." She stared into my eyes. "I promise".

Promises aren't always fulfilled especially if you are not the the barer, i wanted to say, but i did not. I just swallowed down the bille in my throat and sat helplessly on the ground.

"I don't know what to do anymore." I confessed in defeat " that man.... George, he was my only hope of getting this thing out of me and now he is gone, I have no idea what would become of me."

" You found him?" Faye asked.

" I did. It didn't end well." I replied "she can hear it all everything. This demon, it most have known exactly what we were doing and that's why it wanted to stop it from happening."

" So you didn't find out how to get rid of it." Faye questioned.

" I was about to." My head fell in defeat when I recalled the words of the man who tried to save my life but had his taken instead. "But now, there is only one way left."

"What's that?"

I looked up at my friends, wanting them to see how serious i was before saying those words.

"I have to die." I did not drop eye contact, I just let them see not just the determination, but the plea in my eyes. "There is no stopping it. It has to happen."
