it's only the afternoon. AUBREY feels like it's been days. SUNNY fell asleep a couple of hours ago, but AUBREY insisted on staying by his side.

AUBREY: he looks so peaceful when hes sleeping. i haven't seem him this way for such a long time

AUBREY smiles to herself and reaches for SUNNY's hand. she hesitates, not knowing if she should. she softly touches her fingers with his, intertwining them. SUNNY stays sound asleep.

HERO: aubrey?!

AUBREY swiftly lets go of SUNNY's hand and turns round to face HERO. he looks solemn.

HERO: i came here to ap- apologise to sunny.. but i see you beat me to it. haha..

AUBREY: hero... you should leave.

HERO: aubrey.. can i at least see him for a minute? i- i just want to sit with him

AUBREY: ...

HERO walks over to SUNNY's bed, ignoring the glare that AUBREY had placed on him. HERO takes SUNNY's other hand.

HERO: sunny... i'm so sorry. i understand now how hard it must've been.. for your own sister to die. i don't know if i forgive you yet.. but i'll always be here.

HERO stares at SUNNY. he seems genuine. AUBREY doesn't buy his act.
SUNNY stirs from his sleep and wakes up

SUNNY: is a- aubrey still here.. oh- hero!.. hello..

SUNNY looks back at HERO. he seems afraid, but HERO is staring at SUNNY with love.

SUNNY: thank you hero

HERO smiles at SUNNY

AUBREY: it's time to go, hero.

HERO: can i speak to you outside aubrey?

AUBREY looks at SUNNY. he seems discomforted by the tense aptmosphere in the room. AUBREY sighs

AUBREY: alright, but only for sunny

AUBREY and HERO make their way outside, and are met with KEL. he seems worried and distracted, but still manages to greet them both with a smile upon seeing them.

KEL: hey aubrey, hi hero!

HERO ignores KEL.

AUBREY: hello, kel.

HERO: aubrey, i'm not gonna bother arguing with you. i have obviously hurt sunny. he.. he probably needs more time. i should probably go apologise to um.. basil..

HERO smiles a little at AUBREY, and turns around to walk to BASIL's room.

KEL: he's.. going through some stuff. just keep that in mind.

it's been a crazy day. i better get back to sally. goodbye aubrey!

KEL wraps his arms around AUBREY, sniffling as he holds back his tears. AUBREY hugs him back. allowing him to cry a little. KEL quickly wipes his tears and runs off, not to BASIL's room but to the hospital exit. AUBREY watches him leave, and makes her way back into the hospital room. sunny is now sat up on his bed, looking straight at aubrey.
