sunny wakes up in hospital, unable to fully comprehend what just happened. so many memories, thoughts and questions are running through his head until he feels a sharp pain in his head.

what happened? where am i?? everything is so... bright...

SUNNY raises his arm to his head, realising that he is covered in bandages. everything starts to come back to him.

oh. i remember. i have to- i have to get up. i have to tell them, i can't keep this burden any longer. it almost killed me and basil.

he stands up, shaking and frail, but determined. the room is scattered with flowers, each with a message from various people from faraway town. SUNNY remembered the fun he had with KEL in the last days he spent before ge moved, although he didn't express it much. he walks to the mirror, half expecting SOMETHING to be behind him again. but to his surprise, it's just him.

he walks out of the hospital room, unaware of exactly where basils room is, but somehow feeling like he knows the way. sunny rubs his eyes in confusion as he sees his friends. KEL, AUBREY and HERO. but, not the ones he was looking for. it was his friends from headspace. although he didn't want to see them, he was a little relieved to know they were still there. they didn't say anything, but they gestured for SUNNY to follow them. SUNNY felt like he wanted to. their playful demeanour made him feel safe. but he knew it was wrong. he decided to check was it was they wanted him to see. as he walked towards his friends, he noticed he was nearing closer to a door. none other than the doors to the ROOF. ah. how tempting it was to just open the door. a couple steps in the wrong direction and he could be free. but he came this far. he couldn't just give into HIM. give into OMORI. although his hands reached out for the door handle, his heart told him to turn round. and so he did. upon turning round, he saw STRANGER. he grimaced a little, still being a little scared of the dark figure, but he knew that STRANGER would lead him to the truth. he followed him down to BASIL's hospital room, where he faded away, leaving the rest up to sunny. SUNNY knew what he had to do. he reached for the door handle, and opened it. he was met with the concerned and slightly confused faces of his three friends, the RIGHT ones this time, and the swollen, beaten face of his best friend, lying helplessly on the bed.

AUBREY: SUNNY!!!! i am SO happy to see you!! are you okay?! what happened to you two?! how were you allowed out of your room?!

SUNNY felt overwhelmed by questions

HERO: aubrey!! calm down a little, i know it's amazing to see that sunny is okay, but he has probably just woken up!!

KEL: we are so glad you're okay sunny!! i've been so worried about you and basil.. i'm sorry i couldn't have done something, i was sound asleep whenever- whatever this is.. happened!..

HERO: i know you're probably exhausted sunny, but it would be nice for an explanation! (whispers) we've been trying to speak to basil but everytime we ask him anything related to you he starts to breathe faster...

SUNNY's friends stare at sunny, waiting for an explanation, but sunny only has his eyes on BASIL. without taking his eyes off of basil, he speaks.

SUNNY: i- i have to tell you something.

KEL, AUBREY and HERO just look even more confused as SUNNY speaks. even though they were asking him to speak, they didn't expect him to. HERO slightly smiles at SUNNY, trying to comfort him, unaware of what would come next.

SUNNY: i did it

everybody HESITATED

HERO: sorry sunny, but we're gonna need a bit more information than that! what did you do exactly..?

BASIL lifted his head a little. he knew what sunny was about to do

SUNNY: the night before the r- recital... mari was angry at me. i told her that i didn't want to play the violin anymore. the way she taught me was unsatisfactory in some way, but it's all a blur at the point. she- she wouldn't listen to me. she just got angrier. i didn't like it. i didn't like her when we practiced. everything ha- had to be perfect. i got so frustrated that.. that-

AUBREY: that...?!?!

SUNNY: i threw my violin down the st- stairs. i don't know why. i wanted to prove some sort of point to her. she just continued to raise her voice at me. i didn't want to be there anymore. so i tried to- tried to walk past her... but... she walked in fr-front of me and i- i... i accidentally pu-pushed her down the stairs. and as soon as i did it i- i picked her up and brought her to our room.. but i soon realised that she was.. she was g-gone. ba- basil saw me and h- helped me. he suggested fr- framing it as a- a suicide. we both carried the body outside.. and basil h- hung it using a skipping rope.  i... yeah. that's i- it.

SUNNY's friends stared at him. no longer with looks of concern, but RAGE and UPSET. sunny was still looking at BASIL, who had his eyes clenched shut. the silence was too loud. sunny had to LEAVE.

he turned around and as fast as he could in his state, walked away. it wasn't long until he heard the squeaking of shoes and angry, frustrated voices catching up to him. he stopped, and turned around to face KEL, AUBREY and HERO. HERO was standing directly infront of him, while AUBREY stood slightly behind him, and KEL was still slowly walking towards him.

HERO: s- sunny... HOW COULD YOU DO THIS?!?!? HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO MARI?!?! Y- YOU KILLED HER!!! SHE LOVED YOU AND YOU KILLED HER!!

sunny felt as if hero's words pierced his heart. he felt weak. his legs began to give out. this is exactly what OMORI told him. SUNNY didn't want to believe it. he didn't want to believe that OMORI was right. he COULDNT believe that OMORI was right. as sunny began to distance himself from reality, KEL attempted to pull HERO back.

KEL: hero!. stop it!! i'm sure there's some sort of reasonable explanation for this...

HERO: KEL!!! HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT?! H- HE KILLED HER!! HE KILLED MARI!!!!

AUBREY stood still in shock. tears began to well up in her eyes. her anger began to overcome her. she walked towards sunny, who was still spaced out.

AUBREY: you.. little... BITCH!!!! you killed mari, didn't tell anyone, YOU HID IN YOUR HOUSE FOR FOUR WHOLE YEARS AND LEFT US ALL TO GRIEVE, AND THEN YOU SHOW UP, JUST AS MY LIFE WAS BEGINNING TO GET BETTER, AND DROP THIS ON ME?!?! no... this isn't FAIR!!!

AUBREY walks up to SUNNY, and pushes HERO out of the way. KEL tries to hold her back.

KEL: aubrey.. don't do something you'll regret..

AUBREY: oh trust me KEL, i won't regret this.

AUBREY closes her eyes and without thinking, does the only thing she knows, and punches SUNNY. her punch was supposed to land his face, but got his chest instead. SUNNY immediately snapped out of the delusional state he was entering and curled up in pain. his already blurred vision began to fade away, as he heard nurses and doctors rushing towards him, the last thing he sees being AUBREY, staring at her fist looking terrified.
