Marigold wiped the tables down in 8-Island—as one does—and pushes her hair behind her ears gently. She gives a sigh and stretches her arms up. She'd just come back from Bosco. In fact, it was her first day back to work. And Yajima had no mercy on her.
"Back to work, Mari!" Yajima scolded, waving a spatula from the kitchen door.
"I am working!" She laughed, hardly taking his serious. "You know, what are you going to do without me?"
"What I didn't when you were gone for those days." Yajima crosses his arms. "Nothing."
"Come on, you ran this shop without me before I came. You're telling me you couldn't even manage the three days I was gone on your own?"
"That's exactly what I'm telling you." Yajima nodded. "When you're a century old, you won't trust yourself alone with an oven and a room full of knives."
Marigold smiles softly, and shakes her head. "Well, I guess I won't have anymore vacation days for the next century. Or until you die."
"I'll never die!" Yajima shouted with a determined tone. Still waving the spatula around in his hand.
"Okay, cook those waffles already. People will be coming soon." Marigold said, putting her hands on her hips.
She goes back to wiping down the table, cleaning the cups, and preparing for the customers. "Wonder how things are going for all of them at Fairy Tail...I wonder if Nashi and Gideon got together or something. Gyuh...she could be pregnant by the time I return..."
Nashi covered her mouth from her nausea. She sat in the back of Esmeralda's van, and the car was shaking horrendously.
"Hey, you okay Nashi?" Sylvie said, a tad bit concerned.
"Yeah, I thought you never got motion sickness." Layla noted. "Unlike our idiot father..."
"No...I only get it when I'm riding a vehicle with a terrible driver..." Nashi groaned. "Where are we even going?"
"Bosco!" Sylvie announced gleefully.
"What? That isn't even close to Maniford!! Why would we go there?" Layla retorted.
"Sylvie told me about her dragon friend in Bosco that she saved last time she went there, so we decided to head there." Esmeralda explained.
"Well, it would make since for her to go there. She did live there for a long time and does have a lot of connections..." Nashi nodded, recalling Marigold's tales of her drug dealing days.
"Wait, what did Marigold do in Bosco?" Layla asked, out of the circle.
"Oh, she said she did some drug dealing." Esmeralda explained. "It's good to see women starting their own businesses these days."
"That's a way to put it." Nashi muttered to herself.
With the rickety van coming to a stop, Layla anxiously slides open the doors, kissing the ground.
"LAND!" she cried.
"Wow, this is Bosco...it's colder than I thought." Nashi said, since she'd never visited the country.
"This takes me back, I wonder how Yodana is!" Sylvie said, looking around the city that Laurie and her had traveled through in their youth. She glances over at a billboard and sees Yodana plastered on it in a skimpy outfit with countless back up dancers. "Oh! It looks like she's doing well."
"So, where do you think we can find Marigold?" Layla asked, brushing her hair back.
Sylvie points her finger up to a large sign. "Right there!"
