IT'S A HUMBLE REQUEST FROM MY END TO EVERY INDIAN OUT THERE : Please do watch India's games in the ongoing Men's Hockey World Cup if possible, all it shall take is an hour out of 24, to celebrate hockey, an integral part of Indian history and heritage. Let's all support our team and Indian hockey, which is now steadily rising to former glory. Since most Indian sport viewers are cricket fans, it's a special request to them, a T20 cricket match lasts for approximately 3.5 hours, so can't you spare just an hour out of a cricket match to support our hockey team? Let's watch bilateral series, U-19 WC and B-G trophy a little less to support our hockey team. Hockey may not be our national sport, but it is our tradition, heritage and culture and as Indians it is our duty to preserve and promote it. Remind yourself, India was once not too far from reaching the fate that our Pakistani counterparts have today. The most successful team in the Hockey World Cup has NOT QUALIFIED for this year's World Cup, not because Pakistani players are in any manner lesser in talent, but due to negligence from their board, lack of resources and support from the general public. Pakistan, who once ruled international hockey along with India now have the game reduced merely a namesake national game. They might have forgotten their culture and roots, but let us not. Let's support our hockey team, who have started their WC campaign with a 2-0 victory over Spain and hopefully shall continue on and forward. Best wishes team India.
