Hypothetical questions

You and Piers had been friendly with each other since you met him in Wyndon. He was a quiet person when he wasn't performing and you were a very energetic person no matter what. Polar opposites, yet such good friends, or rather 'friends'.

You had loved him for over a year but had no clue how he felt about you, mostly because he was so reserved and you could never pick up how he feels when it comes to anything about love. You loved talking about love, and he just sits there and listens with a small smile on his pale face. You just seemed to talk and talk and talk, and with the way Piers listens, you don't think he minds.

But he does. He minds a lot. He loves hearing you talk, in reality, he loves everything about you but doesn't know how to express it. He just figures that if he listens and remembers the things you like, maybe you'll like him back.

It was late at night and Piers had just finished a concert and was back at your place. He always comes back to yours after his concerts, he doesn't like socialising much with his fans. He prefers talking to you after shows, watching you take off your makeup while he took down his hair in the large mirror in your room, and just in general being around you.

"But yeah. 29% on my algebra test in year 8, and my dad makes me do revision every night for 5 hours for a month. A month! He meant well, and he gave me money for it, but it was kind of annoying" You were ranting on while lying on your bed as Piers brushed through his hair.

"Hey, Piers," He turned to face you.

"Would you ever date someone?"

Piers froze up for a few seconds.

"I- Yeah m-maybe..."

"No but like would you rather date a fan or someone like me? I mean like- I obviously wouldn't mind dating you, but your fans would be a lot better at complimenting you, and I am WAYYY too talkative for...for really anyone's liking-"

"Y/N is this a hypothetical question or are you hinting at something."

You sat up to see he was looking at you.

"Let's say it is. If you had the chance to date a groupie, would you?" You asked, slightly worried at his answer. You wanted nothing more but to be with him.

"Probably not, I think they'd be too energetic."

"So then you wouldn't date me either, because I am energetic."

"Nah, you're different. Fans tire me out, you... you balance me out. Like you make me feel complete."

You stared at him with a soft gaze, your mouth ever so slightly agape. Almost like you were expecting him to make you start crying. Piers was staring at the floor, smiling as he was talking.

"You're the right type of energetic. You get happy over small things, you jump on your toes whenever you see a cute pokemon, you text me at 4 am asking questions I never thought were humanly possible to comprehend, and every single show you come to I feel like I play and sing better than ever just because you're there. You're like the fuel to my fire."

You had tears in your eyes, and you obviously sniffled because Piers heard it because he looked up at you and got worried instantly.

"H-Hey, are you okay?!" He kneeled down to you, worried about you.

you sniffled, as your intrusive thoughts took over before you could stop yourself.

"fucking kiss me already."

you realised what you said and immediately regretted it. You didn't know, but Piers was smiling.

"I-Im sorry! I shouldn't have sai-"

And just like that, his hand held the side of your face and his lips met yours as tears rolled down your face. You immediately deepened the kiss by placing your hands on his neck. You both pulled apart, your foreheads touching.

"I guess I wasn't being so hypothetical with my questioning..."

You both smiled and he kissed your forehead.

"I'd choose you over anyone, even if I don't show it as much as I can."
