"Nikki... Nikki wake up..." Jack calls as he delicately shakes Nikki's shoulder carefully not to startle his pregnant lover.
Nikki groans and rolls onto her back leaving her pregnancy pillow behind, "Jack... it's half four," She groans flinging her forearm over her face to avoid the blinding bedroom light.
Jack can't help but smile at her, she seemed even more gorgeous than he had ever realised in this light, He hovers over her and waits for her to move her arm from her face. "Why are you dressed?" Nikki asks curiously as she peels one eye open.
"We're getting married today. Remember?" He grins cheerfully while stealing a kiss from her lips.
Nikki smiles up at him, how could of she forgotten. Sitting herself up she runs her hand over her bump and sighs, "I hope this little one behaves themselves today."
"They will, now get a move on we have to go before Da wakes..."
She pulls back the covers and shivers at the loss of warmth, "he's going to kill us!"
"That's why we move quickly, he can't stop us if we're half way to Scotland by nine..."
Getting out of bed she stands and begins to dress herself and then pulls an overnight bag from the wardrobe. Jack sits on the bed watching her packing a few things and a nice dress, he still couldn't believe they had booked to get married at Gretna green just after lunch time.
He messes with his car keys; Jack didn't want to admit it but he is nervous to drive all the way to Scotland despite having passed his test only a few months ago.
Within fifteen minutes they were ready and both sneak out the house as quiet as possible. Setting off on their adventure without informing any of their family members knowing full well they will say that they are too young to be getting married.
Six and a half hours later the pair arrive in Scotland. Getting out the car Nikki stretches her legs around looks around at the view as Jack gets he has got the correct place despite passing all the signs directing them to the venue.
Booking into the hotel the pair get settled with a few hours until their allocated slot, Nikki sits herself down on the edge of the bed and then lays back looking up at Jack who is stood over the bed.
"Okay?" He smiles.
She gives a small nod along with a smile and watches him, perching himself beside her, he comes to rest his hand on her bump and gently moves his thumb up and down her stomach. "You're not having second thoughts are you?" He quizzes.
Nikki looks up at him, "No... I just am worried your Dad... not to mention my Dad will go mental when they find out."
Jack moves his hand on her cheek and strokes her cheek, "Well I shall turn my phone off an no one, I repeat no one will ever find us."
He lays back and looks at her and pulls her into a kiss. "I love you Nicola Alexander, I love you more than words... I promise to give you and this wee one the world" He mumbles against her lips.
Running her fingers through his short hair she smiles looking him lovingly in the eyes. "Save your gushing for the vows," She giggles.
Jack smiles and kisses her once again, "I love you though," He smiles.
"I know you do. Now let me have a nap, your child didn't let me sleep very well," Nikki mumbles as she closes her eyes. Jack continues to delicately stroke her cheek and then allows her to nap for a while.
An hour later the teenagers are stood with the registrar taking their vows in front of two witnesses they found outside the venue, they couldn't believe they were finally about to do this, commit to each other for the rest of their lives. There was certainly something intimate about eloping hidden away from the world in a small part of Scotland.
"...I Jack Hodgson accept you Nicola Alexander as my lawful wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, For better for worse, For richer, for poorer..."
He could feel Nikki's hand trembling as he carefully slips the ring onto her finger, his body igniting into pure excitement he was moments away from marrying his best friend and lover.
"...I Nicola Alexander accept you Jack Hodgson as my lawful wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, For better for worse, For richer, for poorer..."
She carefully slips the ring onto his finger, the tears of happiness slipping down her cheeks as she places the ring on his finger. "Forasmuch as Nicola and Jack have consented together in holy matrimony, and have pledged their love and loyalty to each other, and have declared the same by the joining and the giving of rings, by the power vested in me, and as witnessed by friends and family, I now pronounce you husband and wife."
Jack steps forwards and kisses Nikki, there small applause from their two witnesses making this moment worthwhile. The pair leave the venue together and the two witnesses follow behind, as they step outside they as showered in confetti. "How does it feel to be Mrs Hodgson?" He grins, as he places quick kisses on her lips.
"It's fantastic."
Jack grins and strokes her cheek, "Shall we go and have our first meal as husband and wife?" He mumbles and steals a kiss from his wife. She nods and takes hold of his hand, god she loved him more than words could explain. She never expected someone to love her as much as Jack does. She didn't care that she is only seventeen, she couldn't wait to spend the rest of her life with her husband and their child.
