Lost in the Middle

Christmas has come and gone in a blink of an eye, and Jack and Nikki had expressed more excitement over next year's Christmas when they would celebrate their first Christmas with their child. Nikki may have only been twelve weeks gone but she had suddenly developed a very small bump, initially this made Nikki very aware that she won't be able to hide her bump when at school.

She had in fact sat down with Conor and Jack to discuss what she would do with her final A-level exams, even though she didn't get on very well with Jack's Aunt Karen who is also the head of the sixth form and deputy head of the school, they had to invite her round and discuss the news.

Karen had taken the news extremely well and congratulated the soon-to-be parents, she then proceeded to help Nikki find a plan out for her time at school. Nikki had agreed with Karen when she said Nikki would remain in the school until the Easter holidays, this also gave Nikki the reality check that students would find out and there may be rumors spread around the school.

After she would leave the school, she would still have to partake in revision that Jack would have to bring home for her, and at the time of her exams, she would be able to come in and sit them as normal.

It is mid-morning, Jack and Nikki are currently lay cuddled up together they had been talking for just over an hour. Jack had been telling his girlfriend all about his ideas for the future which Nikki found incredibly sweet that Jack was willing to stand up and look after Nikki and their unborn child.
"... After Uni, I'm going to get a job in the forensic science sector... we're going to buy a big house all four ourselves, two very nice cars, we'll get married and have more children. A big London house with three children to occupy it with us, I'd love a dog too one of those spaniels would be the cherry on top."

Nikki had imagined all this as he spoke and she couldn't agree more with the idea. "I love that..." Nikki whispers as she glances up at Jack from her position on the bed.
"What about you?" Jack asks.

"I had never really thought about it until now, but I want a good job... become a doctor of pathology... Big house maybe in the country or London, and I want to be with you and our child," She smirks as she rolls onto her side and kisses his cheek.

Jack sighs and continues to stroke Nikki's hair softly as they daydream together, "Nik?" Jack mumbles breaking their few minutes of silence.
"Yeah?" She mumbles.
"I want your honest opinion..." He whispers as he keeps his hand on her head.

She glances up once again, "Hmm?"
"Truthfully and honestly, If I was to ask you to marry me... would you?" He quizzes.

Nikki falls silent for a moment, she wasn't expecting such a bold comment for Jack, "God yes..." She giggles finding it sweet how he quizzed her on the idea of marriage. "Why?" Nikki adds.
"Just curious... But I am glad you would," Jack smiles and kisses her head again.

"Jack?... we're Seventeen and Eighteen... and you're already planning our future for when we are like in our thirties... You think we will be together that long?"

"Of course, I love you... you are my soul mate," He whispers against her head.
"Oh..." She breathes tears of happiness forming in her eyes.
"How about it then..." He mumbles against her head.

Nikki sits up and looks down at her boyfriend still lounging against the pillows, "What?" She giggles.
"How about we get married," Jack responds with a grin.
"You're mad... I'm seventeen they will never allow it," Nikki laughs at him.

"They will, no one will need to know. Just us, we can get some witnesses and run away together..." Jack explains.

She raises an eyebrow as he sits up, "You mean like Gretna green style, run away tell no one... and just... get married?" She chuckles in disbelief.

"Exactly that... I can drive us there too. Nobody will come between us, let's do it... in the new year... we bunk school, runaway and get married," He explains leaning closer to his girlfriend.

She blushes at how serious and madly in love he is with her, "You haven't even proposed," Nikki giggles, as she tucks a blonde curl behind her ear.
Jack rolls his eyes and gets to his knees and grabs the random hair bobble that has been sat on his bedside cabinet for days. He then carefully gets to one knee on the mattress and looks down at Nikki who is flushing bright pink. "Nicola Alexander... will you make the happiest person alive and marry me?" Jack grins cheerfully.

Nikki giggles at his attempt as he holds the hair bobble like a ring for her, "Of course I will," She smiles back at him, Jack takes hold of her left hand and places the hair bobble on her finger before leaning in and kissing her passionately.
