"It's time, are you ready?" Shuri said as she came in carrying a long case. Her brother, King T'Challa came in with her.

Sopha mumbled. "I am... so nervous. I think I'm going to throw up."

Shuri practically growled. "Did you get drunk? I told you not to get drunk!"

"I did not get drunk! I told you I wasn't going to get drunk! I told you I knew better! Tony on the other hand..."

"Tony will be fine," the man said from several feet away where he reclined in a chair wearing sunglasses. "Just leave Tony here. He's watching and cheering you on. Yay, Soph!" He said, weakly pumping his fist.

Bucky came up beside her and put an arm around her shoulder. "You got this."

"I am going to fall flat on my face," she said with a sigh as she sat up on her bed.

"Not if we have anything to say about it," Steve said as he came up on her other side and took her hand, squeezing it.

Sophia blushed a little at the action, remembering the night before fondly.

Shuri placed the case on a nearby table and grinned as she placed her hands on the latches. "You ready to see them?"

Sophia chewed at her bottom lip as she stared at the case a moment before nodding.

"Shuri has worked very hard. I think you'll be very happy," T'Challa said, quite proud of his sister.

"I have no doubt about that," Sophia said. "It's not her work I'm concerned with. It's my own abilities I'm more concerned with."

"Sophia, you're incredible. You managed to walk using magic for how long on your own? You'll do fine using these," Bucky said as he patted her on the shoulder again.

"I agree with Bucky. You're going to knock this out of the park, Sophia. You'll see. It may take time, but you'll get it." Steve said, giving her hand a gentle squeeze again.

"That's three votes for you rocking this, Sophia," Tony said from his chair.

"Make that four," T'Challa said.

"Five!" Shuri said as she popped open the case, leading to gasps from Sophia and the men. She rolled the table closer as Sophia leaned in closer, Steve and Bucky stepped in, and Tony stood up and came towards them to see.

There in the case were her legs, they were opposite toned in color from Bucky's arm - mainly gold toned with black in between. Modeled after her original legs in size and shape and with incredible muscle tone that Sophia hadn't had seen since before the car crash when she was in the prime of her dancing days. She couldn't help the tears she felt coming to her. "Um... wow."

"Shuri, they're incredible," Bucky whispered.

"I think they might be my favorite invention yet," Shuri said with a bright smile.

Sophia suddenly felt all the anxiety washing away. "Um, I am suddenly really, really excited. Can we–can I try them on?"

Shuri grinned. "Absolutely! What do you think we're here for?"

It had been two weeks since the implants had been surgically installed on Sophia's stubs for her legs. It was a delicate process that was supposed to help her nerves prepare for the legs and somehow help her body to adapt and prepare for the prosthesis. She had no idea how it worked, but she took their word for it. Now as she sat at the edge of the bed and the two assistants came over and took the legs out of the case and Steve and Bucky cleared out of the way for them to attach them to her, she held her breath.

"In 5...4...3...2...1...attaching..." There was a beeping sound and she felt a strange suctioning and locking feeling and she gasped and looked up at Shuri.

"Oh my gosh, I can... I can feel... I can feel something..."

"What is it?"

"I can... I can feel them?"

Shuri grinned. "Yes! I knew it would work!"

"You knew what would work?" Steve asked.

"You want me to actually explain the science behind it?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Um, probably not."

"Suffice it to say," Shuri said as she came over and reached around behind Sophia's new leg and ran a finger behind the knee, making Sophia's knee jerk up and Sophia gasp.

"Oh my gosh!" Sophia gasped. "I felt that! That tickled!"

Shuri laughed. "The simple explanation is that she has something like nerves all throughout her new legs that are transmitting signals."

"So... she can... feel things in her legs." Bucky said.

"Precisely," Shuri said.

Bucky suddenly frowned and his face went into a pout. "So she still got better tech than me."

Steve groaned and shook his head. "You are insufferable, Buck. Let the woman have her moment of glory."

Sophia giggled. "So to be clear, I am the more superior of the Appendage Siblings?"

"Wait, wait WAIT!" Bucky got louder as he went.

"You two, do NOT make me send you to your rooms!" Tony now joined in.

T'Challa shook his head. "What have we started here."

Shuri giggled. "I think it's hilarious."

Steve groaned again. "We really are going to have to separate you two."

Bucky crossed his arms and kept pouting. "I wanna feel in my arm like that too!"

Steve rolled his eyes. "Oh my gosh, Bucky, you are a hundred years old, not five! Grow up!"

Shuri groaned. "Oh my gracious, boy–give me a while, I'll call you and let you know when your new arm is ready, okay?"

Bucky gave her a beaming smile. "Okay."

Sophia scoffed. "What! He pouts and gets a new arm just like that!"

Shuri looked at Sophia. "C'mon, you gotta admit–he gets cute little puppy dog eyes when he pouts like that."

Sophia rolled her eyes. "Yeah, I guess you're right. Okay. We can be twinsies and have matching feely sibling appendages."

"Yay!" Bucky said and gave her a side hug. "Now, you gonna walk on those shiny new legs of yours?"

"You had to bring that up, didn't you?"

"I mean, getting tickled is one thing, but walking is a whole other thing, missy." Bucky said. "No distracting us from the big mission."

"Alright, boys, come here. I want one of you on each side, and one flanking just in case."

"Oh!, I got her back side!" Tony said with a grin on his face.

"You know, I'm gonna let that go, only because I know you are loyal to Pepper and she'd kill you if you tried anything." Steve said.

The walking went better than Sophia ever imagined it would. Apparently, Steve was right. The practice she'd gotten in teaching brain to walk via magic translated well into teaching her brain to walk via prosthetic. Apparently, Sophia Strange's brain was capable of much more than she ever gave herself credit for.
