A loud bang.
Yolanda hid under her duvet. What was she supposed to do?
Another bang.
What was going on?
Her eyes welled up in tears, too scared to cry.
Bang. Bang. Two?
She grasped at her stuffed animal, biting down on it's ear harshly as to not make noise.
The bangs grew distant. Muffled.
Yolanda cautiously moved the duvet away from her eyes. Her vision was blurred.
Why?
What happened?
She heard more bangs in the distance.
She shuffled out of bed, tip-toeing over to the door.
Her eyes widened as she examined the bottom of it. Thick, black smog was seeping into the room, slowly.
She grasped the handle firmly, only to be met with a sharp, burning, pain strike her hand.
