The First Encounter
-
During lunch, Warren often sat alone. He'd stare over at the other tables and watch as they had conversations. That was when he first saw Nathan.
He got red in the face as soon as their eyes locked.
Nathan got up from his spot and stormed towards Warren in an exaggerated manor, slamming his hands on the table between them. "Who the fuck do you think you're looking at, punk?"
Nathan could see the fear building in Warren's eyes, but he stood, "Y-You! Duh." he spoke with confidence, yet stuttering.
Nathan's guard dropped as he examined the smaller boy. "And why were you looking at me? You some sort of fag?"
Warren's eyes darted down. No one knew he was even questioning. Now one of his crushes was trying to be homophobic towards him? Think, damn it. think.
He tried to sound stern. "N-no! I'm not gay. i just- i don't know.." ultimately failing.
Nathan could see blush building on the boy's face, forcing him to take a step back. Was this boy really attracted to him?
There he was, staring at a boy who might actually like him.
Had they ever met before?
How long had this boy been looking at him?
His mind began to race.
Before long, Warren's guard lowered. Nathan looked too dazed to hurt him anytime soon. Warren reached out his hand as a peace offering. Nathan just stared at it for a few seconds before taking the other's hand. Warren blushed.
With this, Nathan hesitated, but twisted the other's arm, Warren screamed in pain before dropping to the floor.
"Don't let me catch you staring again, puny fag."
Nathan walked off, muttering under his breath.

The Next Day
-
The next day, Nathan had been tasked with stalking Rachel Amber. While doing so, he noticed her go into a science classroom. He followed. Rachel was talking to Stella. Nathan tried to join the conversation but, upon seeing Warren talking to the two, his heart started pounding.
The boy from yesterday. he knew
He couldn't go over there.
He didn't want to acknowledge that he wanted to, desperately.
He sighed.
Rachel walked away.
He needed to do something, fast.
He couldn't miss this opportunity.
"You again, gay boy?" he yelled.
Warren looked more confident than before as he stepped in front of Stella.
Nathan watched as this puny boy tried to make himself look tough in front of this girl.
He was jealous of her.
"Well, gay boy? Got something to tell your little girlfriend here?"
Stella rolled her eyes, packed up her things and left. There was no way she was getting involved with a Prescott.
The room was empty now, just the two of them.
